Marilyn Monroe signed flamingo hotel menu Las Vegas real ? fake ?

Does anybody think this Marilyn signature looks real?
The menus from the mid 1950's
It's certified by GFA and AAU
it's being sold by antiquities of California for
850.00 sounds like a good price but i am hesitant.

Hi
If I could get anyones opinion on who is the most
Trusted certification company or person out there who would that be?
Thanks

If for this menu/signer I would defer to Pauline for her opinion and perhaps a suggestion of an individual expert.

Hi
I just mean for any signature
In your opinion

In my opinion, I do not believe in such a broad statement "this or that TPG" etc anymore than "this or that dealer" - it is a case by case thing for me. For vintage Rock and Roll I might suggest Roger Epperson, for Beatles one might suggest Frank Ciazzo or perhaps Tracks UK. For Film there are other specialty collectors/sources. Other collectors specialize in one or two celebrities and are comfortable with their own opinions on the whole. Some buyers like that little sticker and what it suggests, others, like me, consider it vandalism and would never, ever collect anything with it.

Chris,

The most trusted general authentication company can only be determined by marketshare. That would make #1 PSA/DNA, #2 JSA, and #3 either Beckett or SGC. Beckett is new but growing quickly. I'd say they'll be a solid #3 by the end of the year.

In my opinion, the person who is the best general authenticator is Steve Grad, the autograph authenticator who's been on Pawn Stars the last few years. He worked for PSA/DNA until last fall, and left to start Beckett Authentication Service.

If I didn't know what you wanted authenticated and I had to recommend one person, I'd recommend Steve, hands-down. He's very good on Marilyn Monroe, BTW.

There are specialized third-party authenticators who are highly trusted in certain areas, such as Roger Epperson for music and Phil Sears for Disney. Caiazzo is top for Beatles, but he isn't doing many independent authentications these days.

Thank you
