It's been 30yrs since Braveheart was released, it was filmed in the town I live in, Trim in Co Meath, Ireland.

This year is a pretty big anniversary and Mel Gibson has finally accepted an invite to come, the organizers are selling posters for €55 (all profit to Irish actors guild), I've chosen to pick mine up at venue and get it signed when I'm there, they also do an option, for an extra €8 of them getting it signed for you and posting it.

Unsure of the other actors who are coming, all I know so far is Mel and yer man who played Robert the Bruce

It doesn’t say anything about Mel Gibson being there or signing the posters. Just the other actors

He's gonna be here, it's in there somewhere that he's signing 200 posters only and attending a few events, it's certainly not a great website but it's a local thing only used once a year.

Just type in 'Mel Gibson Trim' into a Google search

A LOT more info on there FB Page

I emailed the promoter and explicitly asked if Gibson would be signing these posters (bc I ordered under the assumption that he would be) and the answer was:

Yes, Mel and other cast members will be there”

Im optimistic, personally.

He will be, it's a small town and I live here, the annual Braveheart celebrations are taken seriously, I'll be heading down to the hotel that morning to get mine, will post here what happened

Awesome - that sounds like fun. Im having mine shipped, but was all in from the go.

PS - thank you for sharing this, Darren!

Looks like he's the guest of honor this year -- and it looks like quite the lively festival. That was a no-brainer for $100 CAD, especially if the website is correct and they're getting performers to sign it too.

I'd really be jazzed if they could get Patrick Bergin (one of the lead performers this year) to sign -- loved his work in Patriot Games. (Though I don't think he was in Braveheart, AFAIK.)

Have you attended this before, Darren?

Yeah, it's only one of the little festivals we have here, a few years back they put up a huge screen and had Braveheart playing on it right next to the castle, nice summer night, was pretty awesome.

Only in the last 10yrs though that they've really embraced that it was filmed here.

And no, Bergin wasn't in Braveheart, didn't think he was in Patriot Games either (Harrison Ford)

"That's me 'holding my temper', Jimmy boy..."

He was awesome as Kevin O'Donnell, the ULA head. Great character actor.

Sounds like the festival has grown by leaps and bounds!

I'm in - would be a beautiful piece to frame. Love that film!

Did anybody here purchase one of the posters to have shipped to the United States? I'm debating it. Iove Braveheart though.

I couldn't resist and bought 2 when I saw this. They stayed in stock surprisingly long. I didn't want to respond and attract flippers so waited until they were sold out.

I emailed them to confirm Mel Gibson is signing. I mentioned I'm located in the US and thanked them for making this available to people who can not attend in person. There was no mention of it being a problem.

I just now received another email confirming the lineup. Here is the info

We’re delighted to announce the following cast members from Braveheart will be in attendance:

Mel Gibson – William Wallace

David O’Hara – Stephen, the Irishman

Angus Macfadyen – Robert the Bruce

Mhairi Calvey – Young Murron MacClannough

John Murtagh – Lochlan

Andrew Weir – Young Hamish Campbell

James Robinson (TBC) – Young William Wallace

Brendan Gleeson (TBC) – Hamish Campbell

Please note that while every effort has been made to secure this line-up, appearances are subject to last-minute change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Thank you so much for posting this Darren
