Thats a fair assessment.

Call it whatever you want, Steve. The bottom line is that you were flat out wrong.

You missed it by 100 miles. You didnt say, Im not sure or wait for the experts - no, in your very first post you said “I dont think its real”

Which just goes to show you have no idea what a real MJ sig looks like. Own it.

Protecting people from forgeries is a noble cause, but you should probably be able to tell the genuine article from a forgery before you come out swinging. But hey, its your club!

Yes, I said that I didn't think it was real. And I didn't think it was real until Wascher posted an exemplar like that piece.

There is a rule here that we treat people with respect, even if they disagree with you. Even if you're sure they're wrong. Follow it.

Hindsight 20/20.

Imagine that.

Dont worry, you wont hear another peep from me.I’ve seen and heard enough. This is what happenswhen you’re not in “the club”

Maybe dont treat longtime members as forgers or with undue suspicion going forward? That would serve your community better. But again, what do I know.

Delete away!

How did I treat you as a forger? That never even came to mind.

Just some dude,

I don't want to kick you off AML, and I'm not going to delete your content, no matter what. I'm simply asking you to treat people with respect, even if they see things differently than you do.

I personally think Steve (...And others) were in their right to give their general opinion in this post, as it was asked in the topic "Please let me hear your opinion" as you wrote.

I think much of what was written after was very off base and unneeded, just because someone had a different view. Respect still should be given even if you can't come eye to eye on the same view. Steve gave his reasons why and wasn't flippant and when Washer gave her opinion...He was humble.

I am not sure if it is because reading tone is harder than speaking face to face, but in a hobby that practically is all based on opinions...When you ask for one, being able to accept it for what it is without feeling as a you are being personally attacked (no one called anyone a forger here)

I am glad for this community and people willing to step up and express their own opinion...But they shouldn't have to be worried to comment just because it might differ from others. That is called being civil.

Adam, I think you expressed your thoughts very well.  Right off the bat, I want to say I’ve never had any issues with Dude.  Dude, I think you’re an important contributor here on AML, and I hope you stay on board.  You’re also a big MJ fan, and I appreciate that.

I also want to say that I don’t think Steve said anything rude, and I don’t think he was accusatory in any way.  I think he really was simply disagreeing with you and pointing out why.  I remember that a long time ago Steve and I disagreed about a Michael Jackson signed LP that I posted, and there were varying viewpoints.  But that’s just all in a day’s work on AML.  Even very experienced appraisers can disagree.  It happens all the time.

I also understand that when it’s your own piece, and you absolutely know that the item is authentic for various reasons, it can easily feel like you’re being attacked even when that’s not the other person’s objective at all.  I’ve been in your shoes before.  Sometimes one can legitimately feel like they’re being attacked.  It can happen occasionally, but I don’t think that was happening here in this case.  I think that both Michael Brown and Steve were simply giving a differing viewpoint and defending their positions.

I remember one time when Steve posted a very good thought about communications via the internet such as email, texting. or a forum like this.  He noted that the internet has been one of the greatest improvements in the ability to communicate with ease, BUT it’s also made it very, very easy for those communications to be misunderstood and taken the wrong way because of the lack of both sound and facial expressions.

So the bottom line is...Dude, I hope for two things.  One, you continue to be a thoughtful contributor on AML.  MJ fans need your knowledgeable opinions.  And two, you read through this thread again.  And hopefully you realize that others were just giving their well-considered opinions.

Just stay the course, Dude.  :0)

Definitely authentic

I don’t like it either. I’d stay away from it

I'm no MJ expert but this auto looks so sloppy.
