This is a Michael Jackson signed Thriller LP. It has been authenticated by PSA/DNA.

In my opinion, this is not authentic. I don't even think it's a good attempt. I think PSA/DNA made a mistake here.

Look at the date on the PSA/DNA LOA. It is significant. The LOA is dated August 14, 2009. This was less than two months after Michael's sudden death. At the time, you can be sure that forgers were kicking it in high gear, churning out lots of fake MJ autographs in order to capitalize on fans' desires to get their hands on real MJ items.

I'm sure at this time, PSA was flooded with MJ items being sent in to get PSA's stamp of approval. And I'm not too sure that PSA had really honed their craft with MJ autos. At that time, just shortly after his passing, I'm not so sure PSA was really all that good and knowledgeable with Michael's autographs.

I don't think this one is authentic, and I've seen a few others from PSA/DNA that were stickered shortly after MJ's death that were likely not authentic as well.

So what do you think? Do you agree with me or disagree? There are pics below, and here is a link to the auction:

I agree with you, James. I think this one is a good forgery.

It looks like it was signed in a crowded elevator and I wouldn't want it, but I think it's probably real.

The PSA/DNA letter of authentication is from 2009. As a rule, I wouldn't depend on an authentication that old when buying an autograph. Knowledge and expertise continually increases.

The "Love" on this one is closer to normal than most of the "Loves" out there, but at the same time his "L's" are usually a little more flamboyant.  The autograph also looks a tad bit shaky to me--especially the love.  They may have gotten this one right, but its one I wouldn't want.

I agree it looks a little shaky, and it looks like there might be some starting and stopping points in the signature possibly - maybe a little hesitation. I wish there was a more detailed pic available.

Not sure this helps but click on this, and then click view full size.... (or click again, in some browsers)

Thanks for the pic, wascher. That is a little better. I appreciate it. To me, it does look like there's some hesitation in there. I just wouldn't trust this autograph, especially for a price of $2750.

Looks good to me but I must say the 'Love' as already pointed out scares me.  If it were me although it does appear in my opinion to be genuine I still don't like it.  If he had no Love just the signature I think I would feel much more comfortable with it.

I would have to knock it back purely based on the word but I could not discourage anybody from wanting to purchase it.  Price is at the very high level even if it is 100% authentic in my opinion.
