On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

That is great...!!!!!

Already sent to Lady Gaga

From the NBC4 website:

The I-Team spoke with Michael Bush, Jackson’s longtime designer and the owner of the items auctioned at Julien’s. The I-Team asked Bush, who made millions from the Dec. 2 auction, why he thought experts were saying the autographs on his memorabilia were fake.

"I don’t know how to respond to it," he said. "I’m going to fake a bunch of signatures, a bunch of clothes, to destroy my reputation for 25 years of working for Michael? No, no."

The owner of Julien’s Auctions, Darren Julien, told the I-Team he believes the autographs he sold are genuine. "They come from someone who worked very closely with Michael Jackson … the people who made the items for Michael Jackson," Julien said.

Thanks Michelle. I just went back though and listened to the news interview. The one posted at the bottom of the last page. And when Bush comes on he is stating something that appears to be "dont pay attention to the signatures, pay attention to the clothes" and then he says something about his reputation. Am i hearing that wrong? I think thats what he is saying anyway.

To be fair, the jacket sold to Lady Gaga IS a jacket Michael wore...except he didn't where it to the white house, he wore it the 1994 VMAs during his infamous kiss with LMP.

yeah, but apparently the jacket was altered to make it appear like a jacket it wasnt. So it seems that misrepresentation was the name of the game.

I have been following this from the beginning. Nice job everyone. Great seeing Roger.

Darren Julien said he'll give anyone their money back who wants it! As long as Julien's will cover shipping both ways, that's the best news we could hear!

Investigation: Autographed Michael Jackson Memorabilia May Be Phony
An auction featuring autographed memorabilia from the King of Pop garnered more than $5 million in one day.
$5 million in one day.

Wow!! This is fantastic stuff. I'm so happy that NBC was on top of this story. I don't know who tipped them off, but once they grabbed hold they ran with it in a major way.

Steve, the people on this website are capable of some amazing things. And I'm proud to be apart of it, however small of a part that might be.

Travis,

Don't we have the best people here? And you definitely are one of them. I'm glad you're here.

NBC did a killer job on the story...and I don't think this is the end of it.

We absolutely have the best people here. And thank you.
