On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.
Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.
Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.
If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/
Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.
Thanks for your help.

Sling,
I looked at Julien's current Idols & Icons auction and searched for "Michael Jackson." Out of 70 lots about 40 were signed, and not one looked like ones I don't think are genuine in the Tompkins & Bush sale. Out of 294 autographs in that sale, there are only a few in that sale that I think have a shot at being genuine.
Whether they're genuine or not, all of the ones in the Idols & Icons sale resemble the real Michael Jackson autographs that I know.

here is some footage. not very good quality. they were up in the window for hours.
Thanks, Justin. At 0:44 in the video, Michael throws HIS hat off into the crowd. The hat he's wearing in your picture above. Like you said, I didn't see the military hat like the ones signed that Lisa Marie Presley was wearing thrown into the crowd, and I imagine that if any were thrown it would be covered in the video.
Is this video why you're sure none of those were thrown?
no Steve i was there. no hats were thrown. just signed napkins. pieces of paper. balloons. etc. at 0:44 he throws a black balloon.
I think they could both be fakes then. Scammers were looking for stories. Pictures all over the place and youtubes of Michael after his death and everyone was trying to cash in.
Anybody that got a hold of a military hat from Budapest just had to sign it and show a picture of Lisa Marie wearing it, and then make up a story and it would be believable.
It seems that Juliens has done the same without researching and investigating and trying to authenticate. Now herein a lot of collectors have been using Juliens items as a base sort of for authentic items. People paid big money expecting it had to be genuine if it came from them. What are they paying top dollar for? They might as well shop on E bay and take a chance.
Any faNS OUT THERE FROM hUNGARY know about this?
Steve I think you should call the LA Times and tell them who you are and about the recent MJ posts. They love stories like this and if they do a piece on the fakes for sale at Julien's Auction, they will probably be pressured into removing them from the sale.
