Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was doing some research on Barack Obama’s autograph last night and happened to learn that Beckett, JSA and PSA/DNA have all failed Michelle Obama’s Deluxe Signed “Becoming” editions on numerous occasions. There have all been deemed NOT authentic between 2018-2020 when they were submitted. Interestingly Barack Obama’s Deluxe Signed “A Promised Land” editions have all passed authentication from Beckett, JSA and PSA/DNA when submitted in 2020 (upon first month of their release in December of 2020). I found this to be very interesting and wish I could find out more about why the major authentication companies failed Michelle Obama’s book but not Barack Obama’s book.

If the respected authenticators are failing the book, I'm guessing she took a page out of another former first lady's playbook. Hillary Clinton pulled the autopen with multiple matrixes stunt when she did a multi-city tour promoting her book It Takes A Village.

Hopefully there is a way to find out. I am still curious if my Michelle Obama signature cut from her Deluxe edition of Becoming is authentic. The odd thing is I never found any of these signatures to match yet Beckett, PSA and JSA have not authenticated any that I know of. I want more information about this but can’t find anything after browsing the internet. 🤔

The second example looks awfully similar to mine from the Becoming Deluxe Edition. Maybe these are autopen but someone is manipulating the machine to make them appear slightly different? 🤔

yeah, that's what I was wondering also, parts look different while other parts look identical.

You can make as many matrixes for the autopen as you want from different authentic signatures, it's no big deal. If these two examples are indeed autopenned, they are probably autopenned copies from two different actual signatures and it shows a clear intent to deceive the recipients.
The way to know is get exemplars from a bunch of these books and compare. You want to see a lot of books, Hillary Clinton is said to have used at least a half dozen different matrixes with her pre "signed" books on her tour. The way it was discovered was several of the big autograph hounds got together and compared a bunch of their differsnt books from the signing. We all know no two authentic sigs are ever exactly the same so when they discovered exact matches, the jig was up.
When a celebrity does that like Clinton did on her book tour, it's an obvious effort to commit fraud against those who buy their self-serving book IMO. And it's despicable, even if not legally enforcable.
