I am working on my dad's baseball collection and he has some amazing cards many of which are not graded. I am curious if anyone can tell if this autograph of Mickey Mantle is authentic.

I took it to a local card shop and they think it is legit but I could use some additional opinions before I consider selling on Ebay.

I was told the card is 100% authentic Topps 1966

That's a nice card.

I'm not seeing that card grade any where near 5, maybe a 3? It's mis-cut terribly 5-95 and corners are very soft with one corner round. Nice score with the card though. Had no idea these would fetch 10- beans!!!!!

Fudd, take a look at these PSA-4s on eBay. I agree it's not a 5, but I think 4 is likely unless there are problems I'm not seeing clearly—like is that a bump in the bottom left corner? Can't tell.

The one at $1,000 has a graded autograph but the card isn't graded. It's probably a 2-3: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-topps-MICKEY-MANTLE-YANKEES-signed-au...

I went ahead and took a closeup of the corners, I don't see any bumps just slight wear on the corners. Let me know what you think.

I see a few Mantle signed topps being listed for ridiculous prices (like the rest of ebay) but what are they actually selling for?

I paid 350 for mine less than 2 years ago (not slabbed)

I'm glad you took better shots. The card is nicer than it seemed before. I think you're right about the grade. I'd be surprised if it didn't go 5. The centering looks to be 85/15, and a 6 requires at least 80/20, so I don't think it'll make that.

Just getting it slabbed as "Authentic" would still bring nice money.

I'm no grader that's for sure but have a few 6's and 7's in my collection. It is very nice to look at and I love the new pics!!! I agree that a grade for that card isn't needed but the "authentic" slab would bring most money apparently for all the slab heads out there. I still see the card as a 4 dropping to a 3 due to the 90-10 centering (maybe not 95-5)  still a clear miscut, OC or whatever those guys call it.

You know Fudd is an extremely tough grader....

Hi all, thanks again for all the comments regarding this card. We decided to give Ebay a shot before we invested in grading it. We are starting at only $299.99 so if anyone here wants to bid on it here is the auction number,

We also added a nice assortment of auto and game used cards recently so please check them out.

looks like it got sold!

like the way you described it and fetched 4 beans. Very nice for both of you!
