this pose is the most highly forged of all the Mantle photos.  That coupled with the crappy quality would suggest you might want to back off from this and look for a better quality photo and signature.

Be patient. there's a lot of forgeries but you can find a genuine signature that's cheap. Heres a possibility

Pretty sure I just found an authentic Mantle signature with the ebay prohibited A.C.E authentication. 19.99 and not a bid on it.

What's the obvious on this forgery? This is a better forgery than the Milky Mautle junk and I've seen a lot of bad banana style forgeries. I'm asking because I have scrap books of printed known authentic examples and known forged examples and I like to add notes when I can. Thanks

Virtually every letter is wrong.  The slant, flow, shape of the letters, spacing, size, and level of the last name compared to the first name.
