Hi. I really respect the opinions of the members here and I was wondering what people thought of this Mantle Ball. It's a Bobby Brown RO-A.  I personally watched Mickey sign this while I was in the dugout at Old Timer's Day.  Just kidding, I bought this at auction many years ago and I just hope it's legit.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Chris

If I were looking for a Mickey Mantle autographed baseball I would buy this autographed baseball.

That is confident I am about th signature on this baseball.

I appreciate the opinion and the ball.  I added you as a Friend so I can personally thank you. Regards,

Chris

Back to the old drawing board Wyle E. Coyote!!!!! I am confident that this is a signature too......only it's NOT Mickey Mantle.

I can't say with certainty either way, but I have my reservations.

It appears as if there is the slightest hint of slowness and wavering in the loops under the Ms. It is more evident on the bottom of the loop under the first M. Also note how the pressure varies throughgout the signature.  Much more pressure where there are "difficult" turns... look to the "ck" to see what I am referring to.

Lastly, I don't like the way the right side of the second M "bends inward." Not to say the real Mick never did that, but is a trait that is very common on forgeries.

Hey Chris...Its sad to say...but I do agree with Zipper on this...he made a great break down on this piece and I fell unfortunately there are many negatives on the formation and sight shakiness...I feel this piece looks like a forgery unfortunately...

The bottom of the first m looks shaky as does the area between the l and the e in mantle. the c and k connection look good, but the pressure is different. With a quick glance, it looks good, but as you know, the details are what we (all of us) look at.

I noticed the blip between the L and E as well.  Almost like he started to angle up too high and then had to correct course. Not a good sign.

I can say with certainty that it is an easy to spot 100% FORGERY. It's not even close. The 1/2 moon M's are shaky and the shapes are horrible. The fake is signed slowly and it doesn't resemble Mickey Mantle in the least, IMHO.

It's not even close?

are you sure you're sure about that?

I see absolutely nothing in that signature that screams out This is an absolute forgery.

Not no blip between the L and the E  which I did notice as well as I looked at the autograph for over 20 minutes, comparing it to 3 other Mickey Mantle JSA/PSA authenticated Mick's of my own, the fisrtys M does not look shaky , there is no slightest hint of slowness and the pen pressure is spot on , that is a good Mantle Autograph . . .

This is a forgery.  It is too slowly written, and shaky.  no question.

I need to go see the eye doctor then.

If all of you fine gentlemen are swearing this is a fogery and I am the only one who see's nothing wrong with it, I am in a heap of trouble, I mean, I am sure most of you know what you're looking at and what you're talking about, So I definiterly need to have the old eyes checked because I always try to disprove things and look for the tiniest error
