I was waiting for the right time, and tonight is it.  Now that Governor Romney is the 2012 Republican nominee for President of the United states of America, I wanted to show the in-person autograph that I received from Mr. Romney before the 2012 Daytona 500 Driver's Meeting.

The following photos are sideways but they show Mitt Signing for us and taking time out of VERY busy day to talk to everyone who wanted to meet him.

Governor Romney was a perfect gentleman and even arrived earlier than expected in order to spend time talking to people about serious issues. Not Hope and Change.

It was an honor to meet him and it will be a bigger honor to vote for him this November.

No matter what party you call your own, GO VOTE! It's the AMERICAN thing to do!

I hope that he wins so that you have an in-person presidential signature Brandon.  The only presidential signature in my collection is Jimmy Carter.  Please stop laughing.

Unfortunately no matter who wins the country will not improve until "We the People" realize that it isn't one person that makes America successful but all of us working together.  That is what a democratic republic is all about.  That's my two cents.  I'll say no more.

Absolutely true!  It was said best tonight, the President "works for us"!

Not laughing about President Carter, I have met him as well too. I have also met President Obama ( in Ga) and President George W Busch. I've never voted a "party line".

This election makes it clear, we don't have to accept the America that is "fed" to us. We can make America what "we the people" need it to be.

Neat story about Romney, Brandon. Can't say I'm much of a fan of his - not simply because he has an R before his name. Eisenhower is one of my favorite presidents of all time. Seems too much to ask these days to have a candidate deciding on issues of war with real military experience and broader appeal beyond just the base of the party. But it's always good to see candidates signing. I always like having candidates or presidents on baseballs. I suppose because they're running for the nation's highest office and there's nothing more American than baseball!

I have to agree, it took me a while to warm up to Romney. And I'm still not sold on everything. I do like Ryan because he is brave enough to suggest real solutions. Even if he knows they aren't popular.

I do think that my children will see canidates with military experience when they are older. We are just in the baby boomer age right now. Still, a lot of the younger politicians of today are from the post cold war era. The Middle eastern war era will hopefully breed a new generation of Military bred politicians.

You're right about the baseball. Had we known that Romney was coming sooner than we did, I'm sure my guest that race (an Iraq war veteran) would have had a couple of baseballs signed.

Sadly due to their lack of military service the plan ryan has would take away my health care as a retired veteran that I was promised for my service, when confronted with this they dont answer the question which is typical for them.

They will clear it up for everyone. The debates will be VERY important this year.

Even though I'm not partial toward Romney, when it comes to signatures I dislike President Obama's. I don't like signers who just sign their initials. That doesn't do it for me. Anyway, I think David Petraeus should run sometime if he can master domestic policy like he has foreign policy.

I disagree on Ryan, though. He ran away from Simpson-Bowles and doesn't include any sort of increase in tax revenue to pay down the debt - I'm not a believer in just cutting social programs to bring the debt down (not that that's actually feasible anyway). Somebody has to agree to cutting spending and raising taxes to an extent if we're going to balance the budget and pay down the debt. But that's just one of a bunch of things I care about which neither candidate is interested enough to talk about at length.

To me, the most Presidential signature is John Kennedy.  There is something about it that is powerful and regal.

I will be happy with the removal of illegal citizens from our social programs ( yes it happens ). Drug tests for anyone over 18 that is receiving assistance, and a true yet fair tax increase like Clinton brought us. This running parallel to realistic spending cuts.

With the UN-employment so high, the tax revenue isn't there. Therefore, we HAVE to cut spending ( especially to non-Americans ). Any tax increase must touch everyone. taxing the people making $250,000.00 a year isn't going to be enough to increase the national revenue.

Sadly, the NAFTA roots are starting to show. Who can blame a company for operating overseas. Too much regulation in the States is not a good thing.

Interesting comment about Kennedy's signature. My reaction is just the opposite. To me, Kennedys signature appears to be a very bland, wishy washy sig.

Isn't that awesome how an autograph can actually give us feeling? And it doesn't do the same for each person.  LOVE IT!

Theodore Roosevelt's signature on a baseball.  Now that would be something worth seeing.

Mussolini made the trains run on time.
