It's a cool piece, no doubt, but a real tough piece to display....signatures on back to back pages. All the toughest signatures are missing.....with one very cool exception Lenny Montana did not sign his real name....but instead signed Lucca Brasi, his character name. That is probably the only thing about this piece that I love.
Brando, Conte and King are the other big scores here.
No Cazale, No Marley, No Hayden, No Bright and No Lettieri
If Al Lettieri had signed, it probably would have gone 4 or 5 times as high.
Al Lettieri was a great actor!!! He played a great bad guy!!!
I think he had only one role where he actually played a good guy.
Very sad that he passed away at such an early age.
Amen.
He was great in The Godfather, and awesome in Mr. Majestyk.
I saw a small cut on ebayUK a few years ago, but the seller was offering a 50/50 mix of TTM graphs and outright forgeries......so my official answer is no.
The issue remains I have never even seen a sample of a 100% verified real one. Something like that book with authentic samples of other autographs will be the only way to be sure, short of a check or certified contract.
Please keep in mind that even contracts are starting to be forged, so in this market today you will want to verify the source, not just take the paper at face value.
Was someone looking for Al Lettieri? Take a look at this one on eBay.
David Wentink told me that he and Tom Kramer bought an IP collector's collection last year, mostly on 24,000 4x6 index cards. They sold the big names first and found this Lettieri last week while looking through the rest.
The collector was John Verzi, who David said collected from the 1950s-90s.
