We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Can we please move this conversation to another thread? A lot of people follow this solely for artist notifications. Thank you.

Good comment Seamus, upon first glance people would be thinking they have lots of signed items to order today....!

+1

Just stop feeding into it on these posts. This is way too much drama for what this thread is suppose to be.

Totally agree. Thanks.

Roger Daltrey signed book at WHSmith for those who missed the Waterstones one. £12. They don't ship outside the UK though. www.whsmith.co.uk/products/thanks-a-lot-mr-kibblewhite-my-story-sig...

Anyone who's bought theses they are not signed awaiting response from wh smith

Did you get a reply?

I ordered two and neither were signed. I emailed them and they asked to check every page and if I’m not happy to take them back to a local store which I will.

If you ordered single copies then they were sent signed (apparently) if you ordered 2 or more Signed copies then they were sent Unsigned by mistake, WHSmith are well aware of this problem....

I e mailed WHSmith yesterday, then phoned them ....  they asked me to return the Unsigned copies to there freepost address in Swindon and they will send me signed copies straight away, it’s nice to get a swift reply

I phoned them told to send them back and they will send the signed one's asap should be here over the weekend

That’s the reply I got:

Dear Greig,
Thank you for your email.
I am sorry to hear that the books have arrived not signed. Have you checked all pages? Please return them to your local store for a full refund/exchange.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards

I've been catching up on my reading and noticed the Twenty One Pilots possible secretarial discussion.

Sending secretarial autographs (signed by someone other than the artist) happens from time to time—some labels are more apt to do it than others. The retailer is rarely in on it. If Newbury sold CDs with secretarial autographs, I would be absolutely shocked if they had anything to do with it. Like most specialty retailers, they do everything they can to look out for their customers.

If Newbury heard there was a concern, they no doubt asked the label if they were signed by the artists. Even if the label knew they were fake, they would most likely assure Newbury that Twenty One Pilots signed them, and that only a few crazy autograph collectors who don't know what they're looking at think they didn't.

After nine years running Autograph Live, I've found that our crazy autograph collectors are usually right about things like this. The truth will come out sooner or later, one way or another, as more and more autographs are compared over time.

If you don't care whether your autographs are real or not, don't worry about it. If you do care, don't dismiss the opinions of Rich and others out of hand. Open yourself to the possibility that they may not be real, study and compare the autographs, listen to others who know their autographs, and decide for yourself.

I know this is a Newbury purchase for awhile back, however, whoever bought the Milky Chance signed CD’s, I also believe one signature to be secretarial.
