We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Not yet!

My Kenny Rogers came in today. The signatures look different from one another and one is inscribed "Merry Christmas." Anybody have thoughts on these?

After looking at them here, blown up, they look like two different autopen matrices.

Do you agree?

I think you are right about the autopen.

Mikethefanboyexample The above has a third, unique signature, example on the cd.

This is from Amazon? Do you think they would have used multiple autopens?
In the past, when I have ordered a signed CD through Newburyport, they usually have an additional signed insert included. In this case, the Autograph was inside of the sealed cellophane. I would think they possibly ran them through a machine that signed them and another machine to seal them. I'm going to check eBay for exact matches.
The signatures are not very fluid and there is extra ink at the beginning and end of each start and stop.

Possibly. I know Warner Bros Ireland usually has their signed CD's sealed - i.e. hand signed then shrink wrapped, so the fact that the autograph is in an unopened CD isn't incriminating in itself.

Yeah I know of artists like Brian Wilson's vinyls come sealed when they are presigned. So I don't think it is totally uncommon for it to be sealed and authentic. I am interested in seeing more examples.

If it is autopen, having multiple styles would be uncommon wouldn't it?

Rod Stewart has his lithograph on sale.

I am still wondering where my signed 12 x 12 album flats are??

I was going to post the same link and same question. Great minds think alike I suppose.

There is a Rock & Roll Autograph show outside of Philly and the past two years they brought in Ace Frehley, Peter Criss, Steven Adler, Lita Ford, Frankie Banali & others.

The (safe) link above has autographs from the last two conventions. Some are reasonably priced and others aren't. I've gone the last two years. It is held in October and if you live on the east coast, it's worth the trip!
