The signed edition hasn’t been reprinted, so you must have gotten lucky in ordering an old copy from 2012 that was somehow still in stock. Given the price, it’s possible they have a few left. Either that, or it’s a recent warehouse find that was re-listed.
Just the price. It is an expensive book, which automatically separates the men from the boys, so to speak. The quality of the paper, the binding, and the cover blocking is superb, though. It’s a lovely edition. I just wish his signature was nicer, but that’s Neil for you.
I have an earlier example of his signature, from 1992, which I much prefer to the one in my copy of Waging Heavy Peace:
