Is Piece of the Past an Authentic Dealer to buy from or do they sell Forged Autographs?

So I thought the guy that owned Piece of the Past wrote an authentication book or like 12 or something? Is all his stuff no good? I have bought a few items from him and am now a little concerned.

I don't know. I haven't seen much of his inventory, and I'm no expert. Some fakes are easy for almost anyone with a little experience and some good exemplars to tell. Some are lots harder.

The way a dealers handles complaints and guarantee requests speaks volumes. Dealers that give you a hard time, make excuses, unduly accuse you of switching things, etc., are typically the ones that sell questionable material.

Kevin wrote The Official Autograph Collector Authentication Guide--a big yellow book. When we bought the company in 2004, we had the autograph exemplars checked out and found many that our experts had problems with. I recalled the books from the bookstores and Amazon and ordered them to be destroyed.

I also keep trying to look up the article by Roger Furr about Piece of the Past and it wont come up???
You tried the links above? It's one of them. They worked for me.
Piece of the past ...STAY AWAY FROM THEM...they sale junk ..I purchased a John Wayne signature for them had JSA,PSA and Bob Eaton look at it and it was trash... I called them and told them who all looked at the item and the guy on the phone put down every authenticator that was mentioned. He also said that the signature probably wasn't the one that I purchased from them...

I just joined this group and I'm disheartened to learn that so many of the autographs I have are likely fakes. I  bought from Piece of the Past for years, and finally stopped dealing with him after spending thousands of dollars.  I never doubted his authenticity (until I joined here), but he had lousy shipping practices -- items would arrive damaged because they were inexpertly packed so that they always arrive with minor creases or even major damage, or he would send stuff to my old address and blame me for "refusing" shipments (which I was never given an option to pick up because I DON"T LIVE THERE ANYMORE), and when I confronted him about it, he tried shipping them to the same address as before!

Also, the guy is a jerk, has lousy customer service skills, and seems kinda unstable.  When I wrote him a bad review on Live Auctioneers, instead of addressing the issues I raised, he accused me of working for a competitor and slandering his good name.

Avoid this guy like the plague...any of the really nasty ones, because if he is as bad of an authenticator as he is at servicing his customers, then he needs to go out of business.
