With the New York Comic Con just over the horizon I thought that it would be an opportune time to discuss anything and everything related to it.  I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has purchased in-person autographs from any of the scheduled guests in the recent past.  Although I will not be attending this year other collectors who plan on attending may need to determine how much money to bring and any help would be great.  Thanks in advance for any information that you are able to provide.

I could not be happier with my New York Comic Con autographs.  Sean Astin was very friendly and more than willing to inscribe my request.  He was also smiling and posing for photos before the Comic Con staff stopped people from taking pictures.  Christopher Lloyd did not inscribe but I wasn’t very disappointed since I was mostly concerned with getting Sean to inscribe on a Goonies photo that I purchased on eBay and Ian McDiarmid to inscribe on a Star Wars photo.  As you can see below I was more than happy when I made my exit.

Awesome stuff!  The Palpatine photo is especially great.

Thanks Rich.  You have no idea how hard it was not to sleep with it under my pillow last night.

Nice pics. Congrats.

Thanks Rick.

Very nice, Mike. Love it. How was the Emperor to meet? If you don't mind, what was he charging?

Thanks Mr. Zipper.  He was charging $125.  He was the most expensive.  He had his own private booth that was sealed off by a curtain.  It appeared to be an Official Pix event with him and Carrie Fisher because anyone who wanted an autograph from them needed to purchase an Official Pix autograph ticket.  That did not apply to any of the other guests.  I think that the trick to inscriptions is to get there really early because as the day progresses and the lines get longer they stop inscribing and just sign their names.  I was third on line.

Good strategy. I'm bummed I could not make it this year. Was it nuts Saturday?

We arrived very early so we were finished with our autographs by noon.  The lines were enormous by then.  We walked around for another hour and purchased some comics.  It was extremely crowded by then.  I had to get out of there.  As we walked down 37th Street we noticed staff members directing people as far as 9th Avenue.  So yes, I guess you could say it was nuts.

Wow. If I go next year, Friday it is.

Has anyone heard what guests may be appearing at New York Comic Con this year?

Anthony Daniels, Chloe Grace Moretz, William Shatner and Sylvester Stallone will be appearing at New York Comic Con in October.
