With the New York Comic Con just over the horizon I thought that it would be an opportune time to discuss anything and everything related to it.  I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has purchased in-person autographs from any of the scheduled guests in the recent past.  Although I will not be attending this year other collectors who plan on attending may need to determine how much money to bring and any help would be great.  Thanks in advance for any information that you are able to provide.

I was told they are charging $395 for Stallone.

Call them and ask and that is what they will tell you. He is signing on Sunday only.

What a joke! Does he think he is Harrison Ford now?

I totally agree. You could buy a vintage "every letter" Stallone signature for $50-100 if you get lucky. It is in no way worth it for that kind of signature. Factor in the fact that the Gridiron Authentics controversey and the fact that Gridiron and Celebrity Authentics share some link, it's possible that those little Celebrity Authentics stickers may some day ruin your investment because people will question whether it really was in person.

Celebrity Authentics needs to publically admonish Gridiron Authentic's stock and announce a complete break from that company if they are going to inspire faith in their certification and deserve those kinds of prices. Right now, things like Coolwaters and Official Pix stickers are without question authentic and they maintain those values in the aftermarket.  The same can't be said about CA.

Official Pix charges $140 less for a Harrison Ford autograph than Celebrity Authentics.

That is ridiculous if it is the amount that Sylvester Stallone is charging at Comic Con.  That is the most that any celebrity has ever asked for at any New York comic convention in the past.  Comic Con is destroying the hobby.  If it is the amount that Celebrity Authentics is charging it would make sense.  They are charging the same amount for a John Travolta autograph.  At that price the items should be available on their website for quite some time.  They charge $600 for Harrison Ford.

Stallone will probably never sign for free again in the street after this.  These high fees are running a once great hobby.

Is anyone attending this year?  Please share your autograph experiences if you do.  I will not be attending for the second consecutive year.  Perhaps I will attend next year.

Has anyone heard what Star Wars guests may be appearing at New York Comic Con this year?
