We've discussed this one before. Many of the best McCartney members here have given their respected opinions. Although the opinions have been equally divided. I desire to offer this at an attractive price or trade for something else that would fit my needs. I believe this was signed by Paul but is a bit different than usual. I'll let your opinions, especially Steve's, be the final word.
Should this one be allowed to be posted in the Buy, Sell, Trade board?

Thanks for providing this comparison graphic, Eric. It is most helpful. I've been working behind the scenes trying to get to the truth on this one. I believe it's genuine although getting straight answers has been difficult. Just getting responses has been next to impossible.
As we all know, believing is one thing and proving it is another. You know me, I want to be sure as I can.
As you know I rarely look at Beatles, for many reasons
But this one is interesting and JoeW is a friend so I took a bit of time
Based "soley" on Eric's comparative post and a few other examples from somewhere else this is what I see...
Which one of these doesn't belong here? Obviously the OP in comparison
The "P" is definitely different
The "Pa" is different
The "lm" is very different in the spacial relationship and the smooth rounded curve from the "l" into the "m". All other examples are close and somewhat pointed
The "cC" is off in that the slash of the small "c" is right over top and to the right of the large "C" and is placed lower in relation to the "m". Usually it's higher in relation to the "m"
The overall baseline is odd in that it has a continual curve
And the long finish of the "y" has a slight curve or kink in the middle of it which is also odd
I'm reserving judgement on whether it's legit or fake because I really don't know.
But I will say this.... I wouldn't buy it (sorry Joe)
I might be wrong, but people may want to compare this to Erik McKay's forgery style.
Maybe Wascher can comment hopefully
I appreciate your input, Shawn. That's why I started the discussion. We all have the same goal. Educating and trying to clean up the hobby. If it's a forgery, it's a pretty darn decent one. I didn't go into this blind folded. I knew the possible risks.
+1 Goodcat.
It's done too slowly. Who here has gotten Paul in person? He writes fast.
Why was the pen held at different angles for each "c"?
Like goodcat, I'd pass on it if offered at auction or sale.
I appreciate all of my fellow members who have offered their thoughts on this signed photo. After careful consideration I've decided this photo will never see the light of day again unless some overwhelming evidence is provided.
Did some student at LIPA with talented writing skills decide to fake the signature and come up with a nice story? Or was the story a total fabrication from the get go? Could it be that Paul was impressed with the student and took extra time to render a better than his usual signature?
Why didn't a few of the top Beatle experts I contacted take about 30 seconds and email me and say they didn't think it was genuine? Are they too important or arrogant?
No one will ever know. The challenge in this hobby is that sometimes it's not whether a signature is genuine or not. It's who thinks it's genuine or not.
This is a wonderful site. It sheds light on a darkened world. Thank-you.
Have you asked (payed for) Roger Epperson what he thinks about this one?
I appreciate your suggestion, Cogo. I highly regard Roger although rarely use his consultation. My best to you for the new year!
I have been skeptical of this signature since it was first posted. This may be a small point, but the placement of the signature also concerns me. In addition to the "sterile" nature of the signature, I think it is unusual for him to sign in this lower corner, as he is a lefty. Doesn't he usually sign in other areas, usually higher up and to the right? Also upward direction of the signature concerns me.
+1 Good observations Tony. Suggestive of right handed signer?
There are always exceptions Ballroom.
