Here are two Paul McCartney signed Ecce Cor Meum CDs.

The first was supposedly signed by Paul at the Virgin Megastore in London on November 22, 2006. In this one, Paul added his famous "doodle"; however, there are a few smudges that go along with it.

The second one was reported to have been signed at the the Virgin Megastore in New York on November 13, 2006. This one is smudge-free.

Do you think one or both are authentic? And would you rather have the "doodle" one with smudges or the other one that is "doodle-less" but clean?

I would personally and definitely want the one with the "doodle" for sure if it was smudge-free. And does the "doodle" more than offset the smudge-factor? Which has greater value?

And finally, another thing to consider: perhaps the smudges contain a PARTIAL PAUL MCCARTNEY FINGERPRINT?!!

signed 8x10's command a higher price than signed cd's

Thanks, Terrier. That was kind of my suspicion, because I figured that on the rare occasions when he has done signings, it's probably been for a music release which would involve CDs. I'm not sure when or how you would get a signed photo, other than perhaps if you were fortunate enough at a concert or having knowledge of his presence somewhere (i.e. airport, hotel, store, or restaurant).

I prefer the one that isn't smudged, but for that price I would try to find a signed Beatles LP.

Thanks, Ballroom. Could you give me some advice as to where I might look? I would definitely prefer an LP, but almost all the ones I see are either over $2K or close to that.

you will find that the Mc signed albums on Ebay are all over 2K buy it now, and they have been sitting there for years.  I would choose another venue, or try to cut a deal with one of the sellers on ebay.

Ok, good advice, Terrier. I would think that sellers who have been waiting a long time might be ready to cut a deal.

That is good advice. If you’re patient, you should be able to find one on eBay for around that price. I was able to purchase one for less.

Both real!
