Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site. I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.
Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale. In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake. The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.
He might not know there is a problem.

The Harrison Ford was not from the same source as the MJs.
I have no doubt that Garry will refund customers for any forgeries.
Look back at Mike's posts. Whenever anyone asks for authentication help, he posts numerous exemplars, enhances images so variations can be seen, and points out minute details to help collectors understand why he's saying what he's saying. It's unfair to compare how Mike contributed to how Roger contributes. Roger is a true expert when it comes to music. He is also a very busy man running two operations. He doesn't have time to contribute as heavily as Mike did. Also, I'm kind of new to the forum, but I don't know if Roger comments on non-music pieces. So what I'm saying is: apples and oranges, but both very valuable resources!
Mike Aring has been very generous with his time, knowledge, and opinions. He has helped me out numerous times as I expunge any dubious items from my collection. He has also confirmed, more times than not, that my items are authentic. I make no apologies for him or his behaviour, nor would he want me to. He is who he is. But I think we need his participation on this site. No disrespect at all to you, Steve. We are better with him than without him.
Just my Canadian 2 cents worth....
Pete
I can't comment on what he has done in the past, and I am sure that Roger's account is accurate. People are complex creatures, and we all do things we regret later. All that I can comment on is the help he has given me without asking for anything in return. Nobody's perfect.
Adrian appears to be one of the kinks in the IP autograph supply chain I mentioned. England is infiltrated with music and entertainment autographs reputable dealers believe are genuine that would not pass muster in the US.
A lot of people complain about PSA/DNA and JSA, but if there was a similar major third-party authenticator in the UK, I don't think the legit dealers would be having as much of a problem.
I agree about PSA. It serves a necessary service for buyers whether people like it or not. What bothers me about what I have been reading on this and the previous deleted discussion is some of the defenses. For example, doesn’t it concern you that the explanation given for questionable items is that the signer was possibly on drugs at the time? In America we have this little thing known as the Fifth Amendment. It is intended to prevent a person from saying something in their defense that might actually hurt their cause. I hope that they get to the bottom of whatever is going on over there.
Please dont try to make this out to be just a UK problem. At the end of the day we are possibly talking about 1 bad egg here not a nation wide problem!!
Unfortunately, it's more than one bad egg. Marc Mclennan is a huge problem--and he knows what he's selling.
I have already explianed as to why i mentioned drugs. Any drug, alcohol etc will alter the way our mind works and our body functions, hence it can affect a signature. This is a well proven fact whihc can be found in published journels, and if you read page 100 of Reed Hayes 'Forensic Handwrinting Examination' you will see that it explains how different drugs change the way a person both writes and signs.
This was not put forward as a defence but as a possible reason why they are different.
