LOL. To be fair I have also posted a number of items that have been deemed genuine by the a few knowledgeable people on here (ballroom days, Dan Gregory, Mr Cyrkin, Richard Booth, Rob Marrs, Wascher, Scott Paul) These people know that I do not purposely post fakes for discussion, these are the people I respect as they have actually been helpful to me.

Is that a term used for someone who buys something then at some point decides to sell it on? if so alot of people could be described as that then, didn't think there was anything wrong with buying and selling things, guess everything has their own opinions though.

No, a flipper is someone who buys something and then put it up for sale as soon as possible.
It's different if you bought something years ago and then decide to sell. That is not flipping an item.
Hope this will explain the term.

Paul, we had a pleasant conversation before. I'm sure you're a nice guy. However, as can be seen in the Buy/Sell/Trade Group, you have a memorabilia store with many things for sale. You have, to a large degree, generally presented yourself as a collector, but it is pretty clear, you're a seller first. Since you're a dealer with a store on eBay, you probably should make that clear. The Lennon cut that you got that so many people gave opinions on here for you is now already for sale in your store. Most people at the time thought they were helping out a fellow collector to get what many consider a "dream" item, a genuine Lennon autograph. But you immediately made it available for resale in your store. That is the very definition of a flipper.

While there is nothing wrong with finding items to "flip", most flippers pretty much do their own work or with a close associate. People on here don't mind helping fellow collectors. It's what the site is for. People on here are excited about helping other people that share their same passion for autograph collecting. But they might feel somewhat "used" if all they're actually doing is helping someone flip to make a tidy profit for someone else.

I think many of us collectors have all sold something on down the road after having had the item for awhile but now wish to gather funds to purchase something else. Flipping is when you buy something just to immediately re-sell it for a profit.

There is nothing wrong with being a dealer. If not for dealers, I wouldn't have most of the things in my collection. But most dealers are up front about it, and often offer a lot of insight themselves. The Lennon piece that you are now selling in your store is now out of my reach at the moment, whereas previously it was not. While it is your right to set the price for this item you are flipping, you should probably be more up front about your intentions.

I'm not a Stones fan and have only the vaguest competency in their autographs, but even I can tell that album is really, really bad.

I hate to contribute to any sentiment of this being an attack thread, but I'm in the same boat here.  This forum is obviously primarily for informational purposes, but Paul, you're just using us for your own profit.  If you're going to be a dealer - which seems to be the case - you have to take some responsibility for learning your trade.  What I'm seeing is you throwing a bunch of crap against the wall to see what sticks in an effort to make a buck. The email spam was more than slightly annoying too, and damn near infuriating when you blatantly ignored Wascher's request to stop at one point.  The feeling of being used expressed by several forum members is valid.
