Hey everyone, Chevy Chase is having a private signing thru Officialpix. Im debating on sending this item in. Has to be there before Oct 22nd so I have to make a decision quick. Does anyone have experience shipping high value items? Should I even take a chance at all? Just looking for advice on the best way to get this done. Thanks guys!

Obviously your decision, but, personally, I wouldn't. Part of the concern is how OP would handle it. The other is how Chase will. My guess is that he'd put a big black Sharpie signature on a vintage item. And what if he signs over one of the other signatures?

I've been emailing officialpix. Im told if I send this in, I should place a post it note with an arrow and it will be signed on the spot I choose. I can also cover up Bill Murray somehow. Its so tempting. When I had this PSA/DNA certified, the guy at the counter even said I should get Chevy on it if I can.  You are right though. A new marker would stand out terribly and I can't find a way to get it there 100% safe unless I drive to FL to drop it off

I would not attempt to send this in. Not worth the risk, IMO.

Thanks, I agree with you so far. It would be nice to get a few more opinions though.  There may be others down the road that would attempt the same thing and they would need as much info as possible

^ This - it's a one-of-a-kind piece. Murray's elusive enough as it is - I wouldn't be willing to risk it on the offchance that one of the two links OP quoted (either OfficialPix or Chase himself) screw up.

Jason H, If you can not get to the OP signing site and get a confirmed price for Chase to sign it in person….don't risk it…..this is too rare an item…

I agree, you are right

Thanks for all the help guys, after reading a lot of forum posts, I do trust officialpix as an option to get stuff signed but ive decided to leave the LP as is. Ive researched shipping and there is not one option I trust 100% to deliver. Even if everything was delivered ok, it just takes 1 shady person to say the box was empty on delivery. If I ever do get the chance to meet Chevy Chase in person (doubtful) I will have him sign with a similar pen to the others so his autograph doesn't stand out as much. I hope this thread helps others out in the future that are debating doing something similar with a high value item
