did anybody else get that ozzy signed litho email just now?

this is what it said:

"Thank you for preordering the Deluxe Vinyl of “Ordinary Man”! Your order is about to ship and you will receive tracking information soon.

Please note, your free Limited Edition Ordinary Man album lithograph may arrive in less than mint condition. It has traveled the long road from being hand-signed by Ozzy, meeting up with your vinyl, all the way to your door.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support."

I responded right back to them and said..if this doesn't get to me in new/mint condition, it is going back and you are sending one that arrives to me in new/mint condition or i contest with my CC...I bought new items..not damaged items...they are trying to cover their own a**** over something they are not telling us about, imho..

I have gotten several signed lithos and NEVER have I gotten a BS  email like this, EVER..NOBODY DOES THAT!

Newbury are one of the Very Few Companies I order off, sadly they are currently Totally Closed down - even online

I know a lot of sellers on ebay tend to list things as a preordered item that will ship when they finally get it. I wonder how they deal with these items showing up as a autopens - whether they just ship them out to the buyers or if they refund them/cancel the order.

My general observation is that most don't care. It's all about making a buck.

It's a shame about some/ most sellers. You know what the hardest pill to swallow was for me... I got screwed on the "missing lithograph" with my LP. The lithos were genuine, so why wouldn't the CDs be? So, I bought a CD on Ebay. The CDs are autopen and now I have nothing. This whole thing is disgusting. I especially hate this whole "the signed lithos/ CD covers are a FREE GIFT" crap. It gives the seller an easy way out.

This whole thing plus the crap that happend in the past made me stop buying big names "signed" stuff from their website. Especially I live in germany so that makes 25$ shipping extra plus if not real and they only refund when you ship it back makes it 50$ loss in any case.

I already had my finger on the the buy buttom of the Ozzy LP plus Litho but hessitated. No I bought one for 135 Dollar but I can be sure it is real. For me worth the Money.

how much did these originally sell for?

uk ebay has a few for £45+ and from my oberservation they're the genuine, non autopens. not sure if they can ship internationally at the moment but I'm sure you can ask if that helps at all. Artists really need to stop with the autopens while selling their own merch, it's not fair to the fans who expect something genuine. They should just admit the limited number and only sign that many if it's too much

Got mine in the mail today. Opened it, slapped a return label on it and sent it right back.

I also received a couple of these autopenned Ozzy cd inserts. I have sent an email to Sony and will see what happens. I think people who got duped need to bombard them with emails and maybe they will make things right. Probably not but strength is in numbers.

Note that D. G. wrote this last Friday as part of this discussion:

“I just called Musictoday about returning these and they emailed me a return label. They told me to just send back in the same mailer that I received these in and they will process a refund in 2-3 days. At least they aren't giving a hard time about returning these.”

This should set a precedent for all to get a refund, but it appears they just want to stonewall people now. Since this is fraud (Can you say Operation Bullpen?https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/news/stories/2005/july/operation-...) you should be able to file a complaint/dispute with your credit card company and get your money back.

One thing about their return labels that I found out- they DO NOT have tracking. So you may want to eat the cost of returning these by media mail so that you have a tracking number. If you end up needing to do a paypal claim you will need that. Otherwise, it would be your word against theirs and without tracking paypal will side with them.

Great info Darryl, but it seems that now they are no longer responding to people as they did to you. You may have been one of the first to contact them before the floodgates opened.

BTW - In looking at these autopen signatures you will notice that there is a dot of ink at the end of each one. I remember this being one of the telltale signs of an autopen because the machine starts and stops abruptly, unlike the natural motion of a human hand.

When I called they said that no one else had contacted them yet about these. Even though they agreed to a return, I am covering myself in case it goes bad  I expect a full refund including shipping or I will file my own claim.
