Slabbed Fab Four sells for $16,999!

A 4"x6" postcard signed by John, Paul, George, and Ringo sold on eBay today for
$16,999! That's a confirmed sale price. It was graded Mint 9. Is it worth it?
You be the judge.

it could be a non-paying bidder, as ballroom suggests, or something else underhanded, but it could also be someone with a ton of money, that was impressed with the item itself (totally understandable) and the associated documentation ensuring its authenticity.

I think its a bit overpriced,but will be worth that and more sooner or later. Especially if the buyer is young (if indeed a buyer). Surprised its not Paul H.

It's not me this time Ian.it is a nice set for sure ,but imo no way worth 17k for a set from '63.i just can't believe someone actually paid that price for it.something just doesn't add up.

As someone who sold the only graded 10 set, this is over priced. Very very nice example at that though. Quality is always king.

I personally appreciate the Caiazzo and Cox loas more than a graded slab. I am sure all three combined is why it sold as high.

Very rarely do Beatles experts disagree. No offense, but Caiazzo for the price is absolutely worthless, while Cox & Tracks remains very very reasonable & obviously of more than enough experience.

What do you mean,"Caiazzo for the price is absolutely worthless," do you mean how much he charges for his loa? I guess the way I look at it (my own opinion) the most respected members of an authenticating community that you can obtain there blessing on a piece like this, the more likely you are to catch the attention of a buyer.

Not saying you NEED all of there loas, just saying when you are selling a piece for this value it couldn't hurt.

Depends on the item as last I was quoted at 10% of the item. So in my example nearly 6,000 for a complete signed Meet The Beatles Album.

Oh wow, I see what you mean. I dealt with him, he authenticated my Paul McCartney with two loas for $150. I can understand what you mean however with what you said.
