That definitely is Susan's signature.

Real.  I like dedications usually, but on this one I would mat it out and you'd have a nice display with a photo of her.

But then you change her natural signing angle and the lined paper with be at a distracting angle. It is what it is.

Eric, thanks for the look. You know I like real in almost any form…I also know you like real and perfect ink not to mention those outstanding vintage photos you get your hands on.. I like perfect too, long ago I did not have the money for perfect, I had the money for real

Etienne, Thanks for the look. I could mat that no problem…..can still square the signature and keep her natural signing angle...

But there will be some of the "Best", no?

Eric, You are correct about part of the inscription being in the squared off natural signing angle signature…..no arguments there…But a buyer who wants a real Hayward autograph at a deep discount would be the perfect buyer for this……and I would still make a handsome profit on it.

There you have it :) With 2 mats and the right photo (vintage for me) one could make the signature have a bit of "pop" using colored inner thin mat around the signature only.

I think I'd mat the whole thing personally.

I'd rather have a full rushed sig with dedication etc. on a complete page than a signature that is obviously matted from  something hidden. I know I am in the minority but as I have said before, more is simply more to me.

I agree, Eric.

Eric, Again, I would agree, some buyers would not want to see a name….that person could mat it out….But, I would never sell it without the buyer knowing what the autograph in its entirety looked like.
