Good afternoon!
First time poster here, as this board comes recommended from a member on blowout - poppincurbs.
I recently purchased an autographed OAL Ted Williams ball from an auction site that I have dealt with on multiple occasions and have a good relationship with them. I got a killer deal on it because a lot of people don't like to spend a lot of money on the site and all the buyers are bargain hunters, so I got it for a pretty good price. Trusting the sellers, I bought it and sent it in to PSA which I received back this weekend with a failure. It failed for the following reasons:
1. Atypical letter slant, angle and/or pitch
2. Excessive pen pressure and/or improper shading
3. Irregular letter shape and/or formation
4. Irregular spacing between letters
5. Lacks spontaneity, rhythm, conviction and/or movement
6. Poor line quality and transition between connective strokes
7. Sizing of letters disproportionate/exaggerated/undersized
I was just inquiring about this groups opinion to its authenticity, poppincurbs also mentioned that TerrierHOF has a keen eye for Ted Williams.
So where I'm at now is do I try and return it, or do I send it in to JSA or try again for PSA - I just don't want to sink MORE money into something that might be a loss - ya know?
I appreciate your time and honesty - be gentle.
Sorry for the only 1 picture, I can add more tonight when I get home.

I agree, more pics would help. but from what I can see, PSA got it correctly.
Thanks :(
More posted below. Any specific reason as to why you think it's no good? Appreciate it!!!
Problem is that I already "settled" and bought it. Now I'm trying to determine if I can get my money back and eat the PSA fees or what....
Also, here are some more pictures!
Thanks so much! Live and learn is the motto today.....
Here are is another picture too...
I agree with the other opinions here that this is "not authentic." I would try to get your investment money back. If the auction site is really legitimate, they should be willing to refund your purchase price as well as the authentication fee from PSA/DNA since they sold a bogus item. I realize that might be a stretch but I would ask for it anyway and see what they say.
It's very possible they thought the item was authentic but any legitimate auction site guarantees their items will pass 3rd party authentication with at least a money back guarantee for the purchase price.
Here are the two pictures from the auction, as you can see it was wrapped in some plastic - not sure if it makes a difference?
These are the types of photos you needed from the beginning. After seeing these, this is a no question forgery IMO. As Zipper stated, the whole thing looks manufactured, no flow, no sense of speed. The "d" to "W" connection is pathetic and that was even apparent in the original pictures you posted. The roundness of the "d" and "a" are both incorrect, the "m" in Williams is wrong, the "e" in Ted" and the "i" in Williams also typically have a bit of a curl that he began them with, neither apparent here, once again another sign of not flying through the signature as usual...
Also, the forger didn't even know how to write an "i", instead he spelled the last name Wllllms, with 4 cursive "l"s in a row, with the height and spacing incorrect as well.
I'd get a refund for sure. Also, instead of wasting $75-$100 sending it to PSA/DNA, you should take advantage of their $10 "Quick Opinion" before you buy, or post it over here.
I really appreciate the information and opinions. I'll be sure to try and a refund for the ball. I'll eat the JSA costs as "penalty" for me not doing what I should have to begin with...
So it goes.....
