I was hoping to start a thread about the modern-day "Holy Grail" of autographs. Who is that, in your opinion? Who is the person (celeb/athlete/musician) who is the hardest autograph to score, someone totally elusive? (Perhaps they didn't use to be as difficult.) And then, spinning slightly off that theme, who are the people who are not only known as "hard to get" but those who you have also had oh-so-close calls with?

Any thoughts?

your right DB...love that show but its beyond staged...you can even see his body guard in the back of the shot watching over it if you really look...its quite silly indeed...also they had a bogus Christy Matthews and Babe Ruth signed bat and Babe Ruth signed glove walk in there that was claimed to be right from operation bull penn....so sick

I was more appalled he spent money on a copy of self portrait.

Bob Dylan and Neil Armstrong for sure...Who else is even close?  Dylan may sign here and there but Armstrong is a strict "NO" correct? I'm sure Paul McCartney will make the list too.

Paul still signs, but alot of the time people are just getting a "Paul" kind of going down the path Ringo went going from "Ringo Starr" to Ringo w/ an actual Star then "Ringo" to now not signing.

I got Neil a couple of times years ago when he used to play at the Doug Sanders Celebrity Golf Tournament.  He was a real trip though.  He would sign one a piece and would look at your shoes to remember if he already signed for you when you tried to get him again later in the day.  People would change hats, clothes wigs but the shoes were the tell for him.

Armstrong signs for NO one and hasn't made an exception in over a decade to the best of my knowledge.  He even turned down Nancy Pelosi at an event a few years ago according to media reports. The last confirmed autograph from him was in 1999 to my knowledge. There have been reports of a rare response in writing in the past 10 years, but there was no "Neil Armstrong" signature in the response.

That said, he has been at events in the Oval Office on occasion. I can't imagine him turning down the president or the president's family if he was asked in that forum.

I agree with you MIke...I think if they showed that Transformers space ship that crashed on the moon in his landing video it would have been more believable....LOL

Mike may be right--I meet a guy at a nursing home once who said he was the camera man. Then again, he thought the nursing home was a cruise ship.

here we go with the conspiracy theory....   there would have to be quite a few involved and in the gov't the last thing they can keep in this day and age of secrecy is a secret.  It's analogous to the oxymoron of "military intelligence"

I'm hoping they were joking. LOL

DB, he said it was taped at an old WWII cheese processing plant in Wisconsin.

The truth is out there.

no wonder he stopped signing!  Imagine calling someone a cheesehead!
