Brooks must've signed on as a rep with Treat in the 1990s, as I've seen a few 1990s cards like yours (I've had mostly minor leaguers) and in the early 2000s those brick-a-brack catalogs would sell trading card boxes with a free signed HOFer photo (I got Fingers and Sparky Anderson). The minor league autos and the HOFer 8x10s were accompanied by a small folded paper COA with a facsimile Brooks autograph. I'd imagine the COAs become lost from the signed cards or photos and without anything on the item it's not like it's truly certified. The one you have pictured is quite different from the loose cards I have. I wonder if they were ever in a case like that.

Thanks Jason, I was the winning bidder for $15.00. You can't beat that for a genuine CJ autograph still sealed in it's original packaging. I bet your loose cards were in the same packaging but like you said, people took them out and lost all of the certs and paperwork. It doesn't have the year anywhere on it, but I'm not sure I want to open it to find out. However, the stats on the bottom stop at 1992 so I'm assuming it's from 1993 and the signature is sharp and bold so they must've had it stored in a nice dark place. I really appreciate your input !

The packaging is pretty cool.

The cards I had were from a large collection of random sports cards. They were out of the packaging by that point but original owner had a paper COA with them.

There is another one on EBay right now with a starting bid of 19.99 that nobody has bid on yet in case you're interested.
