Interesting.  I would have loved to seen the Paris collection.  The two pieces I had also allegedly originated there.

Do you know anything more about Pierre/Peter?   All I've ever heard was he was a "French Gentleman" who always attempted to get autographs in fountain pen (blue for the most part).

I had a description of the collection that the shop owner in Paris gave me, I hope I can still find it and share it with you! Will look for it --

Thanks....I'd love to see it if possible!

Here is the bio that was handed out at the autograph gallery/shop in Paris. Sorry, it is only in French, yet it describes how he collected in person for decades in Paris, starting in 1955 and only ending with his death in 2010. Paris is obviously a city where every major movie star travelled to. He liked to collect autographs in ink, and on original film stills/promotional photos.

Thanks for locating it and posting!   I'm not sure what to think.  Like you mentioned earlier, maybe his name as a recognized collector was hijacked after his death when these forgeries started being produced.   It certainly would make for "instant provenance".

Obscured a bit in against the dark background, but this may be the worst Clift I've ever seen:

crumbs

Pierre again!?
