It came from qvc i believe it was. If I can take a picture of it next time I go over there I will!
Me being a card collector I used to watch the home shopping cards and most of the time its absolute garbage!
A lot of the time they had these cheasy commemorative cards That aren't worth the paper they are printed on. And they would have these vintage card lots and all you get is commons and worthless stuff.

If it came from QVC, it is likely authentic. Shop At Home was selling the bad Mantles. I have never seen one purchased from QVC that was not authentic provided the baseball was actually the one shipped by QVC. They had no hologram tying the ball to the LOA so they are easy to switch out but if he purchased it directly and held onto to it, it is most likely authentic.

Oh nice! Yes he did get it directly from qvc. I remembered it looked spot on to me when he got it. This is a lot more promising now thanks so much for the tip!
also thanks Chris for the shop at home link!

Robin, that Joe D. is authentic.

Wheew..I was scared, because I bought both pieces from the same guy back in 2001.

I believe this is a pre printed autograph.....? has anyone seen one like this before or better yet have an example like this...I seen these without an autograph but not with one before....thanks

Looks like a legitimate Mantle autograph to me. I have seen that photo autographed and unautographed but do not remember seeing it with a pre-print autograph.

what is wierd no impression on the paper .....plus i guess a pre print would not have been placed over his body

take a look at it under magnification.......it looks slowly written, especially the Mantle
