i met a lady in the netherlands who let go some of her in person autographs she did collect in 18 years . i bought some of them and also this signed photo of ''jennifer love hewitt'' los angeles 2007 at the oscar vieuwing party ''the abbey''. i understand some high value autographed items because they are rare or the celebrity is deceased etc but looking at auctions or private signings i saw jennifer autographs have high starting bids and go for a lot of money. could someone tell me why because i'am curious about that.

Because of the price!

i don't think this is the level of answering questions on autograph live...i only try to figure out why jennifer's autograph is so valuable because i have no idea. i know all about the ''de niro'' - michael j fox - elvis presley - etc but like to know about jennifer.

I do not understand why people pay such high sums for common modern celebs...I look at $550 private signing by him or her and see 3 Joan Crawford's, or 3 Bette Davis's, or 2 Edward G Robinson's etc. $550...$250 more and you get an early Lugos SP. $75 LESS and you get Abbott and Costello matching signed album pages. Where is the logic? I think I know what to buy.

ok, i understand but still don't know about jennifer?. i know about the private signings and know they are expensive because i have a few from these but i have not a problem with that because of the proof of signing and the quality of the company. it looks better on my wall thinking ''yes this is real'' and have a great feeling with it.

Eric, but you have to realize most, if not all of those names are not "known" to the same generation of people looking to buy modern celebs. It is a to "each their own" situation. Those names you mentioned might be on shaky land in terms of value, if today's new collector is less interested.

I was just saying the other day, I don't understand why Brian Wilson's signature is not more expensive. He is one of the great pop songwriters of his generation. You can get his autograph for around $50 if you aren't concerned with it having to be on a copy of Pet Sounds. Sad. He should almost be on the same level as Paul McCartney imo.

I think the issue is the market. I don't know if JLH (above) is a sought after or a hard to get signature, like Natalie Portman. ...But people are willing to pay up for what they have to have in their collection. Is it a good long term investment? You would have to look at many factors.

Signing habits, rarity, condition, age of the signer, what they have done to advance their field of industry...etc. Still it is a gamble.

i like your comment because it makes sense and sometimes you don't know the reason. for example i saw a pamela anderson go for 50 dollars and a week later totaly nude with same authentication and photo size for almost 200 dollars?. so i want to know about jennifer because i realy don't know.

Brian's an amazing songwriter composer but like so many of the studio artist he hired Glen Campbell,  your leon Russell's,  no one could give a hoot.

Joe cocker rings to mind.

maybe my english writing is not the best but i only like to know what makes jennifer love hewitt so valuable?. is it because she is so beautiful - sexy - great movies?. i understand high value items such as ''laurel and hardy'' - elvis presley - harrison ford - eastwood and many more but this one keeps me wondering ''why?'' thanks for help me out on this one.

Rob, there is no real explanation. Perhaps she is not a frequent signer? I did check RR Auctions past results and there was only one entry. A signed photo sold for $245 in Sept. 2016. I also checked eBay recently sold photos and it seems she can be found being sold in the $100 - $200 range with JSA certs.

What do you consider expensive?

that's expencive joe'' for someone like jennifer, did try some movies with jennifer in it and did not like these but that's because i like other sort of movies. so i guess many people who collect autographs wil go for her looks.

I agree. I don't think she should be expensive although she was in a couple of popular movies. Nudes generally sell for a premium since you are also mentioning Pamela. But, Pamela is a frequent signer thus a lower price. Neither actress, in my opinion, have a body of work which impresses me nor deserve any premium value. Both should be under $100.

Hewitt was an expensive autograph ($200+) before she started doing private signings. i think she's done 3 or 4 of them now. i'm pretty sure the last signing she was $80. most collect her because of her looks rather than her acting talent. that's what i don't understand, people will pay a premium for a sexy pic over a pic of her most famous movie. bunch of pervs collecting autographs i guess lol. it amazes me how low prices drop as soon as an actor does a private signing. i bet all of those sellers on ebay wanting 3000 for their signed natalie portman photos are quite upset. since she's doing a signing those items are now worth 25% of what they were asking. i remember when people were paying 2k and up for harrison ford photos before he started doing signings. now he's less than 1000
