I'm getting serious about trying to finish my Ghostbusters cast photos - not as if I wasn't for the last few decades.. the 3 photos pictured below only only lack Murray for the core group of Ghostbusters (and sigourney for 2 photos)
My plan is to find Bill somewhere somehow but I may only get a chance to say a few words to get his attention. I will have my 6 year old daughter by my side. She wants to be there, her idea. I was previously shot down my last time in person back in 2017. Bill called me a professional, refused to sign a Ghostbusters photo, but did sign a CD for me. Im almost certain a repeat meeting will go a similar way. If you were me, what would you say to him? Quite possibly for the one last shot ill ever have to complete these?
I am willing to tell him ill make a trade. Ill give him the color photo to use however he chooses. Donation for a cause? In return for signing the other 2 photos for me and my daughter. Im not a reseller and definitely not the professional he thinks I am (hopefully he doesn't remember me from 9 years ago) I feel like I need to prove im not a "professional" and that im not in it for the money...?
I think I need to get creative. Hoping someone could help me out with ideas?

Good luck! I think just trying to get one signed makes most sense. Once they see more than one item they think you’re a “professional.” Also don’t look too prepared if possible.
Thanks I know I'm going to need all the luck I can get. This is a huge long shot but I have to try. I agree even one would be amazing but hoping I can get his attention with a trade and one being for my daughter as well.. I honestly doubt he would even care about the item but hoping he sees the gesture as me being sincere.
If you and your daughter request the photo to be personalized that is also a sign you are sincere fans and they are for you. I would also give him the color photo out of the three too since I despise authentication stickers so yeah, good idea.
Thanks for the reply. Being aware that I may only have one more shot at this in my lifetime could turn me into my own worst enemy haha.
This is probably common sense to most who can treat interactions naturally. Overthinking is a lifetime curse for me but also a blessing at the same time in this hobby. I want to get it out of my system now and prepare so I can be more natural if and when I do meet him and enjoy the interaction.
I do not have much of an emotional attachment to the color photo compared to the other 2. Picked it up on ebay for $900 early this year. I felt it was a bargain for an authentic Ramis on this particular photo almost complete with the other signatures.. I had it authenticated with a bunch of other items during a PSA sale event at a card shop for $45. Told PSA to place the sticker on back but of course they didn't listen. I don't mind letting it go if that's a possibility.
About 5 years ago, I found a completed cast signed photo made out to the makeup artist in the original movie for $2600. The seller told me they already had multiple offers for $2000 and I was in the middle of buying a house. I should have jumped on it at whatever the cost but it was terrible timing. Sold very quickly. I haven't seen an authentic completed Ghostbusters cast item on the market since.. the color photo I posted above is the closest I've found.
Point is, if Bill signs it, even though it technically still needs Sigourney, this would be a highly valuable item that could be a nice chunk of change for a good cause and only for him to sign his name twice.. it makes sense to me but Ive read Bill doesn't even leave the house for anything less than $50k. Its still a highly unlikely scenario
Is Bill Murray the toughest signer of the original Ghostbusters cast?
Hes complicated. You have to be in the right place at the right time when he's in the mood. He likes unexpected interactions at random which makes completing certain items almost impossible unless you walk around Charleston SC with your item every single day in hopes of running into him during away from an event.
He doesn't do private signings or conventions. He's been a notorious non signer for people waiting outside of his latest tour. I feel like he needs something out of the normal to grab his attention for there to be a chance.
Sigourney did a convention and private signing just last year. Im confident she will do more as she ages
Ernie Hudson is extremely accessible at conventions. Aykroyd had his vodka signingbtour a few times a year for over a decade and had a private signing last year. Not as accessible as Ernie but opportunities still happen regularly.
Unless you also consider Rick Moranis, yes Bill Murray is one of the tougher autographs to obtain. Although if you just want his autograph on anything just to have one, he technically did have official book signings and a release for his New Worlds tour where there are a bunch of signed cd booklets out in the wild.
He is rarely happy about signing ghostbusters items these days. I believe he wants more appreciation to go for other projects.
Here is the CD he signed for me in person 2017
Haha.. ive been thinking about that a lot recently. He's more mischievous? Playful? I guess fun to watch more than funny.. he isn't a stand up comedian and people searching for that type of humor will be disappointed
Think about Gremlins as an example. Its a comedy/horror.. but whats actually making it a comedy? It isn't words. Its playfully slapstick. I wouldn't call Bill Murray a gremlin lol but maybe there are some similarities as an unpredictable mischievous playful character
