Hi All,
A question regarding quality. There are two Vivien Leigh's below. Both are signed in fountain.
The first is C. 1940 - an 8x10 likely single weight glossy and is about $950 with scum/scuffs/marks and an abraded "Leigh" signature etc.
The second one, albeit it C. 1960 and not C. 1940, is a double weight matte finished photocard portrait by Angus McBean of and signed boldly with very good contrast by Leigh and in Excellent condition. $775-$800
Which do you like and why?

What is your problem? I spent quite some time with Dan over more than 1 day going over many, many images while trying to discuss what quality is in Private Chat. When the poorly contrasted image went for $930 I was very curious why so I posted this question - that's what I meant when I said I am looking to learn in my earlier post.. To suggest otherwise is beneath you. Not everything is malicious.
Personally, I never question what another collector adds to their collection. It's too personal and I believe that is what makes every collection unique. I give opinions on authenticity, possible value, but rarely interfere with the final choice. To each their own.
And when someone wants to understand what constitutes quality and asks?
