Hello Kai,
I really only know the mid 60's up to 1979 (when his secretarials were rampant).
Perhaps someone else can answer about the date. I would be guessing.
No worries. I just thought Id throw it out there.
Kai - It's only my opinion, but it looks to have some characteristics like the photo (and contract) that I started started this all off with.
Ok, thank you! I too feel its real, but its just something I grabbed bc the price was right, not something that I put much thought into before or after. Thanks for sharing.
Signatures have the possibility of evolving as the subject grows older. Examples attributed to the late 1950s may differ somewhat from examples attributed to the late 1960s.
At least that's been my experience in study, for what it's worth.
Of course, that has been shown with Gleason, Burton, Bowie and so on. Even Art Carney, whose signature was the most stable I think I have seen, exhibits some slight change from 1955 to 1975.
A member off thread pointed out to me that this "To Roy" exemplar is attributed to the Mosley collection. Best to be a bit cautious with material said to be originating from it, imho.
