William Shatner Vintage Kirk Authentic SP 1968 and C. 1968 Fan Club Facsimile

Hello,

Here is my vintage William Shatner - the earliest I could find as Kirk. It is a printed SP, 5" x 7" and was trimmed from a 1968 copy of "The Making of Star Trek by Bantam. On the right is Shatner's Fan Club 5x7 with facsimile signature from the same period. This and the equivalent Nimoy and Kelley 5" x 7"'s sell often enough on eBay as hand signed (Nimoy most since long before his death), despite Nimoy using the same facsimile until the 1990's. Shatner is not that easy to locate in vintage form in character. Hope you enjoy.

Eric, thanks for sharing. Very interesting.

Hi Steve,

Many thanks. Sometimes folks don't know what to make of early examples as those look nothing like his signature since the 1980''s on. I will update when I can get a better scan of my vintage Shatner. Those old Fan Club 5" x 7" are not that easy to find and are a neat collectible, especially as the vintage examples are quite scarce of all cast members and so tightly held.

It would be...fascinating...to do a study of the evolution of Shatner's signature.

Eric
