Hi Ellen,

I hate to say it, but your Nirvana autographs are definitely not authentic in my opinion.

thanks what is it that seems off? I do have a letter of Authenticity

They resemble the autographs of Nirvana members, but that's not hard to do. They don't have the expected characteristics of any of the signers. These were all forged by the same person. You can tell because they have similar flow, pitches, etc. Every autograph is unique, but almost all have at least some characteristics in common with others they signed.

Here's a link to Nirvana autographs sold by a very reliable autograph auction house, RRAuction: https://www.rrauction.com/search/?str=nirvana&flexdatalist-str=...

BTW,  a genuine Nirvana band-signed cymbol would probably sell for at least $25,000 for a low-end example, and a quality one could bring as much as $100,000+.

thank you for explaining.. I feel so taken now , I've held onto this since 1995. so basically its not worth anything

Here's a genuine Nirvana band-signed cymbol in the collection of one of our members.

I guess I'll just throw it out then if its fake

If you do, deface it (sandpaper etc.) or this can start all over again. "Look what I found!" etc.

No reason to deface a Zildjan cymbal.  Rubbing alcohol or paint remover will take the ink off.  ;)

Yes, I wasn't thinking.

I'm so sorry. I hate giving bad news. But no need to throw it out.

well if it holds no value, other than the type of cymbal, why even mess with it. .i was going to try to sell it  so my relatives would not throw it out if or when i passed but..they would do that anyways signed or not

Perhaps remove the writing and give the cymbol away if you don't want to remove it and sell it. If it's found with the writing on it, it's likely to be sold as genuine to someone else.
