Stan Lee fakes are being mass produced. Most are obvious, but there are some that can be deceptive.

Bear in mind that Stan Lee charges $100+ for show signatures... a little less for private signings for dealers. If you were going to spend $100 on a Stan signature, or you were a dealer doing a private signing, would you use a beater comic taken from a 50 cent box at a flea market? Or a comic that has ZERO connection to Stan other than being a Marvel comic?

Of course not. Most of the fakes are on these kind of low cost items.

That seller just moved a whole group of Lee signatures, all the same night, one after the other, for on the average, about $30@. Not one comic "Lee" signed was worth even a buck. One of them, that he called "fine condition" about poor.

What I can't understand is this. Has the seller no fear that either Stan Lee, or one of his associates will see his listings this worthless crap? Using Stan Lee's name to criminally turn nickels into twenty dollar bills? Even with the complete liberalization of the criminal justice system, I'd have to believe that this is still a crime. At some point, someone like Lee, charging $100@ for his ink may want to stand behind his brand and hire someone to deter pirating of their brand.
