Got the autograph of the winner of the 1995 PGA Championship, Steve Elkington, in the mail today.

A clearer/higher resolution scan would help Jorge, but I think these are 100% autopen. Notice the "shakiness", uniform pen pressure, and DOTS at the beginning and end of letters. Tell-tale signs. Arnold has used several autopen variations, here are some exemplars of his auto pen through the years:

Here are the pics of the signed first day covers.  One inscribed to myself, the other to my wife. The angle of the signatures is what stands out I think.

Post a pic Jorge, I'll tell you

Has anyone written and requested an autograph from Ben Crenshaw over the mail? Not sure how good (or bad) of a signer he is. Thanks.

Ryan, I think that you are right, I was looking at my signed Arnold Palmer item and indeed it looks odd.  The signature looks too perfect and bold. Kind of disappointed thinking the last 2-3 years that it was real.

G'day again Jeffrey, yes - Jack & Gary do use autopens but Gary much less so. In my experience I would say that most folks I know who have sent items for signing to Gary have been successful but just be patient as he gets lots of requests and is still a very busy guy :) I'd be quite surprised if you didn't get your trading cards signed :) All the best, David.

Arnold has used autopen TTM for years. Do not send it to him.

Thanks, David! It sure does help, as I have plans to get a letter out to both Arnie and The Shark with a request for an autograph on trading cards I have of them. The only other 2 that I have heard are autopens TTM are Jack and The Black Knight Gary Player. I have a trading card each of these guys as well that I'd like to get out in the mail to them. What do you think about these?

G'day Jeffrey, I would have to say that nearly all (say 95%) of the signed photos that have been obtained TTM from The Shark and The King have been autopens and that includes those with 'inscriptions' from Greg like "PLAY HARD", "ATTACK LIFE", "KEEP SMILING" and, from Arnie, "Best Wishes". Having said that I have some TTM items from Greg that are hand-signed :

Also, those TTM from Greg that are not autopens have a "stamp" on the back that states the photo is "for use only by the recipient. Resale or other commercial exploitation is prohibited by law and unauthorized by Greg Norman".

Hope that helps and all the best

David
