A soldier in Afghanistan bought these sports autographs and would like to know what you think of them! Almost all have been authenticated, and I've either cropped the photos to remove the authentication stickers, or covered them.
Please only comment on authenticity when you feel confident in your opinion.
Thanks for helping one of our heroes in harm's way!
I have some here from a different soldier, with Mantle, Williams and DiMaggio 5x7's with Burzyk stickers. In this case, the Mantle looks like the other two, authenticated by AAU/Drew Max and TTA.
These may not be machine signed, though. Some sort of tracing may be involved, like you said. I'll upload them later today.
I stated this recently but I can't recall where....
The 5x7s should have been a huge tip off. Who was going to pay any of these late HOFers tens of thousands of dollars for a private signing and then get a boatload of 5x7s signed?!?!? 5x7s that go for a fraction of what an 8x10 would sell for. How stupid.
It really makes you wonder what kind of questions these "forensic examiners" ask. They have a pallet or two of Mantle, Williams and DiMaggio SPs sitting in front of them, and do they even bother to ask...
Where did these come from?
Is there a copy of the signing agreement/contract?
Why are the backs all blank with no photostock identification?
Why would anyone get the real Mick, Ted and Joe D to sign 5x7s?
Why do they all look like they were signed yesterday?
Why is there no natural variation in the signatures?
We're talking simple, common sense questions. Just what kind of "exam" are they conducting?
Here is your typical Burczyk garbage.

In this seller's defense, he may not know it is a fake. It's actually priced at what a real Mantle should be priced at.
Which leads one the believe that the sellers who were selling the Burczyk junk starting at $24.95 must have known they were selling garbage, right?
By the way, I'd love to have a Mantle SP of this pose. But this is just another clue... probably the vast majority of what the real Mick signed was the standard Yankee Stadium and Spring Training poses. When he was doing shows on Long Island and NYC in the 80s and early 90s, they didn't have a wide range of action pics to choose from. Probably one or two standard file photos and that was it.
So when you see these wild action pics and unique poses that are signed... tread carefully. It could be a red flag.
You're right, Mr. Zipper, the majority of these sellers have no idea what they are selling. Many of them would list them on Ebay with a $999.00 "Buy It Now/Best Offer."
The websites that sell that garbage write on their websites "Compare At $1499.99." Yeah right.
Here is a "TTA (Ted Taylor)" authenticated piece of garbage.
