Edie Falco secretarials?

I had never realized that Edie Falco responded secretarially, but I've done some research and I'm thinking the two autographed items I sent to her and received June 2000 look bad compared to her…Continue

Curious to hear any opinions on this seller. He's been on ebay since last century and most of his listings claim he gets his autos IP when various celebs are in town. Doesn't appear to sell anything…Continue

Did JSA blow this Pamela Anderson (Lee)? Or maybe not...

Pamela Anderson was a generous TTM signer in her early days of stardom. But by the time she married Tommy Lee, she was responding to mail requests with secretarial signatures. This Pamela Lee 8X10 is…Continue

Collector, Fan, Dealer
What would you like to tell us about yourself, your collecting, or business.
Have loved getting autographs since I was a child, got into it in earnest in the early 1990's.
What is your level of expertise?
Advanced Collector, Long Time Lover
Why do you want to join Autograph Live?
As someone who has primarily collected TTM for over 30 years, secretarials and to a lesser extent autopens and preprints have always been the bane of my collecting world. But at the same time I'm fascinated by the research and detecting facet of authentication. The number of forgers on eBay makes me want to puke and I'd like to contribute another positive and honest voice to the hobby I love. Since I have been doing a lot of authentication lately, I periodically come across your forum and enjoy it immensely. "Authenticity is Everything"...those three little words sum up quite succinctly why I want to join this forum!
Who can we thank for telling you about us?
The internet...LOL!
What are your areas of interest?
Sports, Music, Classic Hollywood and Stage, History/Politics
You can ask anyone living or dead for their autograph. Who would it be?

The 3 Faces of Doris - Will the Real Doris Day Please Stand Up

Posted on March 27, 2024 at 11:47pm 44 Comments

I'm a big Doris Day fan. Love her voice and thought she was an underrated actress. Not a big fan of those iconic movies with Rock Hudson and Tony Randall, but I enjoyed a lot of her earlier musicals and her few dramatic roles: Midnight Lace, Julie, Hitchcock's second version of The Man Who Knew To Much and her terrific turn as Ruth Etting in Love Me Or Leave Me. In those few roles she really got to show her dramatic chops.

The point of all this is because I am a big fan (and having…

Why do so many experienced autograph sellers not know how to package properly?

Posted on March 21, 2024 at 9:36pm 29 Comments

I'm not talking about inexperienced sellers here. I'm talking about sellers with feedback in the thousands who feel that putting a photo in a semi-rigid envelope barely larger than the photo with just a sleeve or perhaps some semi-rigid cardboard around the sleeve is enough protection for an autographed photo.

I've been buying more online lately, a lot of it to fill holes in my Sopranos collection. And it's been truly disheartening to see what a high percentage of sellers don't use…

Found something great for MLB autographs!

Posted on March 7, 2024 at 9:58am 1 Comment

Recently while I was browsing on fleabay, I came across a guy who says he was the first Creative Director at Upper Deck from 1989-1992. It seems he squirreled away numerous sets of 1991 and 1992 Upper Deck Heroes Of Baseball Commemorative Sheets that were originally given out as SGAs at baseball games. Upper Deck produced a lot of these individually numbered promotional sheets, mostly as SGAs, throughout the 1990's. But these 1991 and 1992 sheets are hands down the cream of the crop IMO…
