In the last week ebay has stopped responding to reports from their own EMR (enhanced member reporting) team. This team would report bogus items and items with COA's from banned authenticators. Usually the reports were acted on, sometimes very promptly, sometimes slowly, but usually the reports were being used by ebay. Though there were some very large ebay autograph sellers that seemed to have immunity to these reports.

Now ebay is not even listening to the EMR reports. Ebay is flooded with crap and more is on the way.

BEWARE of buying autographs on ebay. It is a cesspool now and unless things change it will only get worse.

The only autograph I will buy on ebay is a KISS one, and 85% of those are fake.  I can spot the real ones because I have gotten autographs from them many times in the 80's and 90's and Peter and Ace have been doing appearances the last few years at Horror shows.  I know what these signatures are supposed to look like.  I've seen so many KISS signatures on the record/vinyl itself, and I don't even one of them are real.  No one actually gets KISS to sign on the record.  So I can only assume all the other signed items on ebay have the same failure rate.  Just too easy to make money selling fake stuff.  Buyer beware.

I have heard that an EMR has written to his ebay contact and gotten absolutely no response.

If this is now ebay's permanent policy and not just a momentary "glitch" then it is horrifying to think of what is going to happen.

Hopefully ebay upper level people are actually reading this blog. Hopefully they will restore the EMR's to importance.  Otherwise they may as well just turn the autograph section over to the autograph criminals and call it The Autograph Criminals Section and be truthful.

Maybe legal authorities have to be contacted in order for ebay to act properly. Things are bad enough when the EMR team is operating to guard the autograph section. Without the  EMR team it becomes a bloodbath.

A year ago, Ebay seller johnjohnwh98 would have been booted off Ebay for listing the crap he's been selling.

But Ebay allows scammer johnjohnwh98 to continue to list his crap.

Here is my original thread on EBay scammer and seller johnjohnwh98.

And scammer johnjohnwh98 continues to list his crap.

I have a Alice Cooper signed album that i got in person a few years ago, i tried to sell it on e-bay but someone reported it to be fake since i didn`t have a coa, they REMOVED it, the person who reported it and e-bay don`t have a clue on signed pieces, its all about doing your homework before purchasing, sure at times you will get caught with damn good forgeries, thanks to this site it gives you a fighting chance plus spending $15.00 dollars for a opinion with Roger Epperson may save you a lot of $$$ in the long run.

Jake,

Your autograph was NOT removed because it did not have a COA.

A COA is and never has been a requirement for listing on ebay.

A banned COA will get you delisted but a lack of one will not get you delisted.

The autograph was delisted because an EMR believed it be fake. EMR's make mistakes too.
