Help with Mickey Mantle New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball

Was wondering if anyone could take a lookat this 1960s or 1950s New York Yankees Team Baseball my neighbor has.  I think he has a letter from where his father received the signatures back then.  Anyways I took close up of he Mantle signature.   Does it look authentic?  Thoughts on if I should tell him to get ball authenticated. I did not see Maris on the ball anywhere.  I see  Ed Ford and Yogi Berra..Thanks for any help.george%20ball%20001.jpg

Thanks for the help with the ball, I am not the current owner of the ball, but was just gathering some info, if i should try and pursue adding this to my collection.  As you see from an earlier blog, I found out the Mantle I got from the former card store is a fake. I am hoping this ball is authentic, especially the Mantle.

I was looking on Ebay to balls similar to this era, and notice Yogi and Mantle are always on the sweet spot, but most of the time the Mantle signature has been deemed to be Clubhouse version...What are the differences between the Clubhouse version and this actual autograph??

http://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/topics/how-to-determine-the...

Check out my link I put together a while ago...(club house) is a signature that is added by either another teammate or team staff/personnel...Not as malicious as a Forgery which is being sold as authentic...but at the same time not authentic...a club house is usually added to a piece when the player is not present...unfortunately it almost is always the big names...like for example Mantle...once again I am not saying the ball has a bad Mantle on it...but the chance of the Mantle being good do to the fact these have had so many bad Mantles on it I would say is pretty slim....I have seen authentic Sweet spot Team signed "Berra Mantle" piece from this period...they do exist...

Thanks CEE GEE for the very informative information and link.  Yes the Berra and Mantle being in the sweet spot is a concern that it may be clubhouse, I would feel better actually if they were somewhere else on the ball.  If I obtain this ball , I will let you know how the authentication turns out....thanks

I'm interested to see how this one goes. The ball in question is really hard to focus on the signature due to the condition of the ink and the glare. From what I can see it seems like a tweener between clubhouse and real... I see characteristics of both on the ball.
