Yes.... I live here in NC and I was looking through my old Greensboro Hornets minor league stuff and there was the bat from 1991..The other signatures are about 10 others Cesar Perez, Ron Frasier and some other players who never made major leagues. Jeter played here a couple years later, but didnt find any of his ...just the Mariano..and it looks very different...thanks for your input.
Very neat.
Did you obtain this in-person? It certainly shares many characteristics with the 95/96 Rivera.
Could you please get a better lit and more centered shot? I'd love it for my archives. Pretty please? :-)
It's quite interesting how his signature has evolved so significantly over the years. I wonder what that says about someone.
Yes, He played here in Greensboro for one year , i think 1991 and I had some players sign the bat..The autograph is so different , bet i could never get it authenticated... the "M" is much different now..I know he came to US only a couple years earlier with limited English..Who knew he would become the future HOFer he is now..
Just wanted to share this very early signature style...As you can see the other Greensboro Hornets are on the bat also...None of them ever did much...I know Jeter made a stop in Greensboro a few years later, but I dont have him on any Hornets stuff....Let me know if you run across another Rivera signature like this..it is definitely from 1991.
Great! Thanks for sharing!
Very Very COOL !!!!!...I would like to add the characteristics as Mr.Zipper mentioned...there is a right lean which is period to the style he had when he came up as a rookie...also note the tail on the letter "A" and the letter "R" meeting in the middle which he also used to do back in the day...also the lower portion of the "M" and the higher portion where the should be a loop is pretty close as well as he seamed to be practicing as a youngster up until he came in to the bigs...if he only knew then were he would be now when he signed this bat...its truly mind boggling...its simply an awesome piece and when he makes it into the H.O.F this would make a great addition in Cooperstown in my opinion...Thanks for sharing...Just like Zipper I would like to add this my example files...

Lauderdale Yankees I also have 10 other members of the same team and time era, signed cards thing is he didn't sign it like he signs now he also put his jersey number on it but its hard to read , I inherited this collection from my brother who lived in Hollywood FL so he would go to the games quite often he was a big fan and its huge of baseball and other sports memorabilla .anyone ever see
