Mantle & DiMaggio Forged Baseball With Fake Scoreboard COA: Scoreboard Did Not Use Holograms!

Over the last few months we have seen the old Scoreboard COA (and reproductions of the old Scoreboard COA) being tainted with holograms.

The holograms being attached to the Scoreboard COA is an attempt to convince autograph collectors (actually wannabe autograph collectors) that the autograph(s) they are purchasing are authentic.  This, of course, is not the case.

Original Scoreboard COAs never had holograms attached to them.

Before we started seeing the Scoreboard COA with holograms, the old Scoreboard COA was being reproduced in the thousands to sell forgeries.   Wannabe autograph collectors have purchased thousands upon thousands of forgeries accompanied with a original Scoreboard COA or a reproduced Scoreboard COA.

This blog will be used to expose those sellers that are selling forgeries using a Scoreboard COA (or a reproduction) with the hologram attached to it.

The first one we will show here is listed by Ebay seller vintarage.

This is a set of Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio forgeries on a baseball with a Scoreboard COA with a hologram attached to it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MICKEY-MANTLE-JOE-DiMAGGIO-DUAL-SIGNED-BASE...

Forged Mickey Mantle baseball.  Not a Scoreboard product.

These are Florida Forgeries.  Whitey did not sign the piece.  Both the Mantle and Ford are forgeries.  Those who sell forgeries of this image always use the photo of Whitey signing that image to sell the forged Mantle/Ford image.  Note the hologram.  Scoreboard did not use holograms.

Look at this crap.  Fake Scoreboard COA with hologram.

Here are a set of Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams forgeries.  This image has been produced in the thousands by Mr. Florida.  Not only are they laughable forgeries, but they aren't even hand-penned forgeries; they are copies produced on inkjet paper.

Forged Mantle/Ford photo produced out of Florida.  Mr. Florida has infected the hobby with tens of thousands of forgeries.

Florida hologram on it.

Here are a set of forged set of "500 Homerun" players with a fake Scoreboard COA.  As you can plainly see these are "Florida" forgeries.

Here is a Joe DiMaggio forged photo with a bogus Scoreboard COA.  The idiot who applied those holograms to copied Scoreboard COAs must be a moron.

All these EBAY thieves are going to claim they are real and Ken just forgot. Going to be interesting.

Sure nice to have him weigh in on these.......

Ken can certainly correct me if wrong, but I believe the real Scoreboard certs had a watermark on the back that became more visible if you looked at the paper at an angle. I'm sure these fakes we are seeing are plain old printouts on regular copy paper.

It is nice having him weigh in since he is a main advertiser on this site.

I have seen several authentic items with the coas. Specifically the nice Star Wars signed plaques from the qvc days, and several comic book creator autographs. However, the amount of bad material is staggering it appears.

Chris,

I edited the title to attract more people who need to read it. Let me know if you'd like adjustments.

Great piece.

Hi Steve.  Thank you very much.  Like I've told Steve many times in the past, I'm fairly good at writing content, but terrible with titles.

Thank you, Steve.

Here's another example of a EBay seller using a Scoreboard COA to sell a Mickey Mantle forgery.

This Mickey Mantle forgery is listed by EBay seller resk123.

are the fake LOAs they are making BLANK???

the auto says by   but no name?

also, does ANYONE have a valid name and address of who is originating this product (i mean, a real name and a real address of a shop or place where if i knocked on the door, someone would answer and we can prove they are a direct source? "

I ask because there might be a way i can legally stop them from reprinting my name on a LOA...and this does not require me to get any law enforcement involved, since they dont seem to care

Ken - I would like to speak with you directly about how I recently acquired one the Mickey Mantle items featured in this blog.

My ebay record is perfect and I take claims of fraudulent items very seriously. Please PM me so we can connect.

Not only is there no name, but "autographed" is spelled wrong on the above Mantle COA! The buyer's mentality of needing a COA is unreal. I've sold a few 100% real items on eBay with no COA, and every time I get several messages saying "DO YOU HAVE A COA" "DO YOU HAVE ANY PROOF". It's ridiculous. People would rather buy a forgery with a COA, than a 100% authentic sig with no COA.
