The 1979 cult classic "THE WARRIORS" still brings a demand for cast signatures.

Now, some of you younger readers who have seen the film, "The Warriors" on video or (worse) edited on television, probably watch that film and wonder where all the violence is and what really is the big deal. Compared to the real gangs of today, the gangs in the film look more like a Mad Hatter tea party than gangs we see on the nightly news. However, for us older readers, we can testify that when the 1979 film was released, it caused fights in the theaters, gang activity, and a media that wanted to ban the film. So silly by today's standards.

In the 31 years since, the majority of the cast (with the exception of Marcelino Sanchez who played Rembrandt and died in 1986), still are very much alive and little by little show up at events, conventions, special screenings and for those like me who can still dig it (can you dig it?), make every attempt possible to obtain the autographs from the cast. For most, the supporting cast for this film were one hit wonders. However, for Michael Beck and Deboran VanValkenburgh, Swan and Mercy in the film, they both did go on and have some mild future success. Success or not, one hit film or many, whenever I have seen any of the cast anywhere in public, in line waiting are fans of the film, groupies of this cult classic repeating the many one liners, fans asking about the movie, fans talking about the film, and of course, fans asking for an autograph.

Mr. Beck and Miss Valkenburgh will be at the CHILLER THEATER in Parsippany, Pa., on October 29-31 signing autographs: http://www.chillertheatre.com/main.htm

I can tell you from meeting them on several occasions in years past, they both are so proud of their film, so happy to talk about it, and are simply two of the most kindest celebrities that you will ever have the pleasure to meet. Bring your Warriors memorabilia, bring a few bucks to pay their fee, but most important bring a huge smile as you will want to share that most with these two incredible cast members from a fim that I remember seeing over 30 years ago, and enjoy seeing still.

(here are a few examples of their signatures):

Am I the only one that hated this movie?
I loved the Joe Walsh/Eagles track IN THE CITY, though.

One interesting fact on the song "In The City", Joe Walsh and Barry De Vorzon wrote the song and it was released on the soundtrack prior to Don Henley liking so much that the Eagles re-recorded it for the album The Long Run. I always enjoyed Joe Walsh's version much better. As far as not liking the flick Josh, ........how dare you (LOL).

I think I will have to be a person poster with the signatures of all the mercy warriors, I have always dreamed of, even if I will pay dearly, however, remain a relic, and the person in question is out of all doubt that I will have authentic signatures
