I am at a thought crossing in my autograph collection: to sellor not to sell. Let me explain.
I love collecting autographs and always will. However, collecting has been a huge expense for me over the last several years. With so many fantastic autograph conventions across the country, in store signings, artists appeareing at so many local clubs, there has been a rebirth of my collecting. In other words, these last 5 or so years have been more fruitful and successful, than the last 15 years in my collecting. However, do I really need 7 fully signed "Hotel California" albums and over 40 Elton John signatures?
I am at this time "entertaining" the idea of possibly selling off some of my collection in order to build it even better. Again, the key word is "entertaining" the idea. This is an area that is not especially known to me, thus I ask for your opinions, ideas and thoughts as I continue to give this some very serious thought. Needless to say anything inscribed to me would not be for sale, however that still leaves about a good 35%+ of items I have that are not inscribed that would comprise what I may (again, "may") consider selling. By selling off some of my stuff I could then reinvest back into my collection thus building it even bigger than it all ready is. Just a thought.
I would welcome your thoughts, opinions, and words of advice. You can visit my collection at www.rockandrollcollection.com or email me at rockndroll@sbcglobal.net
Cheers,
Stephen Duncan
