Thank you for all who answered. I have a John Doucette that his son said he definitely signed but I have a few that I'm slightly worried about but it wouldn't hurt to get them checked to make sure they are real.

Unfortunately, a fair number of the imaged ones in that initial RR listing were stinkers (imho, of course!).

+1 to what JK is saying.

Personally, I don't really see what actual provenance can exist as the collection is dispersed.

It seems the whole collection (or most of it?) was sold in one lot by RR Auction two years ago. There is no provable connection for any of the items other than those specifically pictured in the listing, unless an item is fully inscribed.

The auction description mentioned "seven decades of in-person autograph collecting". I did some quick math and that's about one autograph a day, every day, for 70 years, to make the "25,000+" number of autographs in the collection.  I don't see any way that pace could possibly be maintained for 70 years.

I have no doubt that Jack Kuster was an honest and very dedicated autograph collector.  However, I have to assume that his collection included a significant number of autographs obtained other than in-person.  (Cary Grant's autograph thanks Jack for his note).

Lots of people collected signed index cards, and index cards are also subject to forgeries.  I suspect that unsubstantiated claims of a connection to "The Jack Kuster Collection" will become more and more common.

Let me say this. I am probably not the one to ask.  As far as I know, I am the only collector who has raised the issues that I have consistently.

For most in the hobby, having something from ths collection is considered rock solid.

I simply have a differing opinion regarding  a number of names that I am familiar with that I have seen being attributed to it.

But I am a minority opinion.

"While the vast majority of the autographs in this collection were obtained in person, some may have been obtained through the mail or via trade with other collectors. Due to the overwhelming quantity, some secretarial and/or printed signatures may be included in the lot. Interested parties are encouraged to view the collection in person at our offices or call us with specific inquiries, as this collection is sold as is and no returns will be accepted." - RR auction.

Im worried now cause I have a few autographs from The Jack Kuster Collection... Do you think his collection is all faked/forged?

I'd advise caution in considering any material from this "To Jack" collection.
