I've already gotten this checked with a very reputable (and awesome) member here, and am very satisfied, but I just want to hear what everyone else thinks about this Freddie Mercury signature. It was said to have been obtained in 1980/81. I truly do think it's authentic. I welcome everyone's opinion. Thanks.

It's genuine. Been on ebay for a very long time.

Thanks for your opinion! Now I have double thumbs up. I've been wanting a genuine Freddie for a long time, and I was just nervous after paying so much for it. Much appreciated!

Since Innuendo says it's been online for a long time, consider making an offer on it.

No problem. If I recall correctly it was up on ebay for just under $700. For future reference, when considering a Freddie signed item on plain paper without other members of the band- think smaller value. I've been studying and collecting queen for 40 years now and that rule has always stayed true. It's easier for forgers to make 1 Freddie on paper than it would be for one to make a full set. This item (if I remember correctly) did have a "make an offer" option. As Steve mentioned, next time- try using that option when considering a Freddie on plain white paper. Plain white paper signatures have always been the lower value items unless they have non personal dedications (Best Wishes or All The Best). I agree with Steve, best offer would've been a fair thing to try here but it is a real autograph, so congrats on that. Enjoy.

It wasn't best offer when I got it, but I'm happy to have it, no matter the cost. It's probably the only Freddie I'll ever get, and I'll never resell it in my lifetime, so i'm not worried about value - just so happy to have it!

Oh...I didn't notice you already bought it, sorry!

no problem!

I do have one other question, which is probably silly to you, but as you are a Queen expert, is the signature I have instantly recognizable to you at first look as genuine, or did you have to consider certain aspects of it to determine it's authenticity?

Firstly, you should know your autograph has been reprinted a million times. However, I do believe this one is the original. It's not perfect (if I'm being honest) but it is easy to tell it's a genuine example from the early to early mid 80s.

What do you mean by reprinted? Where?

Youll see it pop up on ebay from time to time. When people post genuine items online, other people take them and reprint them on other items. Shirts, paper cards, stickers ect. Yours has been made into stickers and a paper card once on ebay over the last year or two. Usually the sellers are honest enough to tell you it's reprinted.

Probably because its a clear and distinct scan. This is the original from out of the autograph album. She's selling the others she's collected from the same album (picture proven)

guess I have a famous one!
