Hi all!

After opinions on this, it has been authenticated by authenticateit.co.uk and was originally sold by piece of the past.

What do you all think?

If it was sold by Piece of the Past it's likely fake. They're not at all a reputable dealer.

Maybe what the person who bought it was thinking? Authenticateit.co.uk are an AFTAL approved authenticator, surely that offers some credibility?

AuthenticateIt is Marc Mclennan. If Marc told me it was a beautiful day I'd run to the storm shelter.

They can't get them all wrong surely? Just after a genuine opinion on the sig?

Cheers

Damon, I'd sit tight for some opinions on the piece itself. I'm pretty sure there are at least a couple people on this forum that seem familiar with Amy's signature. But the insight so far is accurate - those are far from companies that offer a significant peace of mind.

I've been looking for a while and I have to admit, after seeing many fakes and legits, my first impression was that it looked genuine, however, I thought I'd come on here for proper professional opinions before transacting the cash!

Hopefully someone can help!

You might want to take a look at some of the opinions about Piece of the Past in the meantime.

That doesn't sound promising, this purchase was originally made in 2011 from piece of the past
Would appreciate if anyone could offer an insight on the sig.

Cheers

Here are some Amy Winehouse autographs from RR Auction's database. She's always been tough and never inexpensive. Since her death, even her signature on a slip of paper is worth about $500+. Signed photos are worth in the $1,000+ range.

They all vary between themselves, would love a definite opinion on this, haha, like I say I've scoured for a while and thought it was genuine upon looking.
I think the issue you will find is, her signature is so basic (Amy) that it is going to be hard to authenticate and will only wind up with opinions. I know on RACC previously people who got her in person were analyzing the heart shape she made, but even with that imo could ve forged.

In a scenario where a name so simple that it could be forged you or left to buy from someone trusted, reputations stick and unfortunately buying from someone with a bad rep you will always wonder if it is bad. I would want a sure fire piece that left no question. Buy from somewhere reputable for something like this Amy. Just my two cents.
